Weaver Tent(#2676Je$) Telinda wanders in, one hand delicately holding the edge of her dress, "Ah,
Sharia isn't it? Is Master Declyn around? Noone told me there would be a challenge
putting on this dress you know!" Sharia looks up from where she sits, putting the last few stitches in a length
of lace. "Can't say that I've seen him," she answers, a slight touch
of disagreeableness in her voice as she notes the knot on the woman's shoulder.
"He's probably around somewhere though." Tiarnath> Aeriel strides over to Merina with a pleased and proud smile
tugging at the corner of her lips. "That was very well done. You're welcome
to spend as much time as you like here at the gather now, and enjoy yourself."
Smiling a greeting to the others around, she chuckles as the green she arrived
on makes a beeline for the water. Tiarnath> Saijith cranes her neck around, looking at all the other dragons
present, she croons contentedly, as she finds a place and settles down. Merina
pulls off her flying gear and stows near Saijith. She grins widely at Aeriel
"Yes ma'am!" Anja enters the Weaver Tent. Telinda wrinkles her nose, "Oh shards, oh well, can't be helped, he'll
find me I guess if he needs me!" She shrugs, and turns away, noticing
Anja as she does so, "Hey there, pest!" Anja grins over, "Hey Telinda. You in the fashion show ? Seems as if
people are wiating in the changing room for us." Tiarnath> From Sky Above Cove Hold, Duirath emerges from Between with
a blast of cold air! Telinda squirms a little in her dress, "Am I wearing this thing properly?
Haven't worn a dress in awhile, and it feels funny! Awfully pretty though!
Should get myself one for Tia's next hatching!" Tiarnath> Belan comes out of the changing room. Declyn enters the Weaver Tent. Anja smiles over, "You look wonderful in it..." Tiarnath> Mediha is quietly watching the drudges clean up after the earlier
pie contest. She meanders throughout the gather tents, peering at the wares. Declyn makes his way into the tent, frowning the frown of the truly worried. Belan enters the Weaver Tent. Sharia tries not to glower as more people start coming into the tent. She
blows a stray strand of hair from her eyes with a huff, then puts another
few stitches into the lace she's working on. The Weyrwoman's question draws
a quick glance upward. "Looks fine to me." Of course, she wouldn't
tell a dragonrider if she or he wasn't wearing a stitch of clothing. Tiarnath> Duirath wings down from the sky above the beach. Tiarnath> Lily comes out of the changing room. Anja tugs here and there on her new tunic and looks over at Declyn, "Hey
Declyn, where should we be waiting ?" Telinda flicks a hand, "M'sen has been giving me lessons in how to appear
like a proper damsel, as he calls it" she notes to Anja, then grins across
at Sharia, "Thank you, my dear." Tiarnath> Lily walks out of the changing room, smiling. She seems to rather
like her outfit. Tiarnath> Merina looks around and decides on the Smith's tent, since she
needs stuff for her new weyr. She makes her way over, thru the throngs of
people Tiarnath> Merina enters into the Smiths' tent. Anja laughs, "You're the damsel Telinda ?" She grins, "I get
to kidnap you then.' Tiarnath> Harper wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Telinda grins, "Well, don't let K'laarn glowering put you off"
she adds to Anja. Tiarnath> Krischana wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Sharia just snorts at the Weyrwoman's words, then suddenly spots her Craftmaster
and goes all polite. "Any time, ma'am. Please, let us know if there's
*anything* we can help you with." The sarcasm in her voice is barely
concealed. Anja grins at Telinda, "K'laarn's a sweetie at heart, I won't take his
glower to my heart." Tiarnath> Aeriel strolls over to Sandy-Coral beach. Belan nods to Master Declyn and Apprentice Sharia. Hearing Anja, he blinks
and turns to look at Telinda. "I'm Belan. ... The Hero?" Declyn blinks at Anja. "In the changing room, by the clearing." Tiarnath> From Sky Above Cove Hold, Fenth emerges from Between with a
blast of cold air! Telinda grins across at Belan, "Oh, the dashing hero!" she says,
simpering perfectly, "Well, we should do as the good Master says and
head to the changing room then!" Anja grins at Belan, "At least we got a chance to practice our duel...
Have you met Telinda ? She's the damsel you're rescuing." Tiarnath> Fenth wings down from the sky above the beach. Tiarnath> Ana jumps lightly down from Fenth's back. Anja nods at Telinda, "Aye." and slips out of the tent, leading
the way. Belan grins. "You look smashing! Tiarnath> Merina slips out of the Smiths' tent. Anja leaves and Merina enters the Weaver Tent. Tiarnath> Anja goes into the changing room. Telinda giggles, "Such a sweetheart, no wonder they picked you for the.."
at Merina's entrance she goes quiet, winks at Belan, nods with a warm smile
to the younger goldrider and heads out. You go into the changing room. Anja nearly bounces in, and smiles over at Lashana, "I took a quick
nap, feel much bettter now after all those pies. Outside the changing room, Harper walks up the path toward the hold. Outside the changing room, Dain wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Outside the changing room, Ana joins Aislinn, though her eyes are on the
beautiful southern rider Lily. Lashana leaves the changing room. Outside the changing room, Lily turns to walk over to the weaver's tent.
Noticing a particular blue landing, she raises a hand and smiles at Ana. Xavier sits quietly in teh corner. Telinda sweeps -- sweep is the only defination really in that dress -- into
the room, and looks around. "I really hope this looks alright." Lashana comes into the changing room. Sharia comes into the changing room. Anja smiles and moves to Telinda, "You look wonderful, I bet K'laarn's
eyes will buldge from his eyets when he sees you." Belan comes into the changing room. Telinda laughs, "We'll see. I'm hoping he won't get stuck with late
sweeps or anything, but if he does I guess it's hard luck!" Lashana chuckles, and stops tugging at her neckline long enough to smile
at Anja. "Well, that's good. Wouldn't do to have a sluggish..."
She tilts her head to the side to examine the girl's costume. Lily, E'dar and Asenah come into the changing room. Lashana leaves the changing room. Anja smiles at Telinda and nods, "He can still see your dress at least."
She grins at Lashana, "Definately not sluggish, though the tunic seems
a bit tight around the middle." Outside the changing room, Merina strolls out of the Weaver Tent. Outside the changing room, Aeriel glances over at Chiaveth as the green takes
flight and disappears in the distance. Telinda wiggles her eyebrows at Lily, "Nice outfit!" Outside the changing room, T'dru quickly unloads his instruments, shrugging
out of his outer riding gear and bundling it onto Duirath. He glances around,
looking uncertain as to where exactly he's supposed to go. Outside the changing room, Merina walks up the path toward the hold. Outside the changing room, Aeriel strolls into the Weaver Tent. Lily grins at Telinda. "You too." Outside the changing room, Lashana emerges fromt eh changing tent, unable
to resist tugging at the daring neckline of her dres one last time before
striding towards the stage, pausing to call out a greeting to T'dru, one white-clad
arm lifting up in greeting. Outside the changing room, T'dru loses his bewildered look and strides over
in Lashana's direction with a low whistle. Sharia enters and stands off to one side, not fraternizing with anyone as
she brushes a few invisible specks from her outfit. Outside the changing room, Aeriel strolls out of the Weaver Tent. Outside the changing room, Aeriel walks up the path toward the hold. Anja shifts where she stands, literally bursting with energy and excitment...
probably a sugar high from all the pies she ate. Outside the changing room, Ana asks Aislinn "Isn't your intended supposed
to be in the show?" she asks. Outside the changing room, Aislinn nods, grinning "He is...wouldn't
tell me much about it though" Outside the changing room, Mediha groans as she walks past the baker's booth,
the pie contest having turned her appetite. Wincing at the smells of fresh
pastries, she hurriedly trots closer to the weaver's tent, idly peering at
the bolts of fabric laid out. Outside the changing room, Declyn strolls out of the Weaver Tent. Outside the changing room, Lashana grins in an attempt to belie her nervousness,
and gestures toward the stage, "Well, shall we? I understand you'll be
helping with the musical accompaniement?" She falls into a slightly slower
gait, trying to ignore anything but her destination. E'dar paces in a corner, frowning to himself in concentration. Asenah sets herself smoothly in a chair, watching everyone with a calm, quiet
gaze. Belan looks at the others and smiles encouragingly. "Remember, you can
stand anything if you know it's only for a little while." Outside the changing room, T'dru juggles his drum under his arm and carries
his gitar in the other hand. "Only because I was appropriately bribed."
T'dru winks and follows Lashana over to the staging area. Outside the changing room, Declyn steps out of the tent, looking around for
any obvious Harpers in sight. Spotting at least one, he strides over quickly.
"Ready?" Outside the changing room, Aeriel wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Outside the changing room, Aeriel strolls over to Sandy-Coral beach. Outside the changing room, The Harper in question, an apprentice from his
knot, pauses in adjusting a music stand and bobs his head, "Yessir Master
Declyn sir. See, Master Lashana 'n 'n," he pauses, "T'dru, of Southern,
they're coming right on, and then there's," he stops abruptly in his
rambling, and merely nods again. Outside the changing room, Merina wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Outside the changing room, Lashana ascends the stage with a soft chuckle,
"Ah, and I daren't ask what the bribe could have been, do I lad? Well,
glad to see it, at any rate." She slides in behind the hapless apprentice
and adds her ascent to his through a swift bob of her head before sliding
into the chair provided. Outside the changing room, From Sky Above Cove Hold, Shereth emerges from
Between with a blast of cold air! Anja grins at Belan. Outside the changing room, Shereth wings down from the sky above the beach. Outside the changing room, T'dru tosses the WeaverMaster a salute in the
midst of setting up, "I believe so, sir." The wide grin on his face
seems permanently affixed as he eyes Lashana. "You do look nice, Master
Lash. And no, you'd be wise not to ask. Suffice it to say, it'll keep me in
good Harper Red for a long while." Outside the changing room, Noting the increased activity, Med sidles to a
chair near an aisle. Grinning as she spies a fellow Covian lad, she is soon
entranced in deep conversation. Outside the changing room, Shereth drops down to the sand a bit off from
the people. Her glowing hide looking rather nice today.. And free of mud.
Her rider drops down as soon as they have landed. Outside the changing room, Onshana climbs down from Shereth's back. Belan starts to sit then thinks better of it... don't want to wrinkle the
new threads! Outside the changing room, From Sky Above Cove Hold, Tinneth emerges from
Between with a blast of cold air! Outside the changing room, Remma sees her Cousin and waves Outside the changing room, Declyn gives a sharp nod in the apprentice's and
other harpers' direction. "Good good. We'll be starting then soon."
He makes a ducking entrance into the changing room. Outside the changing room, Tinneth wings down from the sky above the beach. Declyn comes into the changing room. Outside the changing room, Nerian dismounts from Tinneth. Outside the changing room, Tinneth warbles happily once his rider is safely
on the ground. Anja smiles over at Declyn, "we ready to start ?" Outside the changing room, Fenth moves over to make room for Shereth...such
a beautiful glowy green...and croons to her. Declyn pokes his head in here. "Everything on ok? Nothing falling off
yet?" Outside the changing room, From Sky Above Cove Hold, Mallarth emerges from
Between with a blast of cold air! Outside the changing room, Onshana brushes out creases from her gather dress
before moving towards the people. She looks rather happy. Outside the changing room, Mallarth wings down from the sky above the beach. Outside the changing room, R'zar lovingly pats Mallarth's neck, swings his
leg over the bronze's neck and hops to the ground. Belan stands to one side of the tent and waits patiently. Anja shakes her head at Declyn, "Not yet at least.' Telinda wrinkles her nose at Declyn, "I hope not! But, yes, I'm ready!" Outside the changing room, Shereth croons back to the blue and flips her
wings close to her body. Sharia shakes her head quickly to her Craftmaster, between shooting dark
glances at the riders around. Outside the changing room, R'zar looks around. Lily grins at Declyn. "Not yet." Belan nods, "Ready, Master." Xavier leaves the changing room. Outside the changing room, From Sky Above Cove Hold, Calinth emerges from
Between with a blast of cold air! Outside the changing room, Lashana has the good grace to blush ever so delicately
despite her age, or wisdom, pausing long enough in adjusting her flute to
chuckle. "Well, that can never be a bad thing, good Harper, now." Outside the changing room, Calinth wings down from the sky above the beach. Outside the changing room, Merina waves to R'zar "The fashion show is
about to start!" Outside the changing room, Calinth walks along west to more beach. Declyn does his level best not to look as worried as he feels, smiles as
jovially as possible at everyone while looking green around the gills. Spotting
Sharia, he frowns at her just because she's there, then sticks his head back
out to judge whether he can start this production or not. Outside the changing room, R'zar waves and walks over to Merina, smiling
"It is!? Wonderful! I arrived just in time, then!" Outside the changing room, Xavier comes quickly out of the changing room,
looks around and spies teh other harpers. he drops teh music sheets he is
carrying in his rush to get over to the group. Quickly he snatches up the
scattered sheets and scurries over to the other harpers, presenting himself
before Master Lashana. Sharia notes Master's Declyn's frown and grumbles something to herself, then
tries, in vain, to look at least a *little* bit happy. Outside the changing room, Merina nods and grins "Should be interesting.
I guess we should find a seat." Outside the changing room, Onshana weaves her way through the people. She
gives Remma a friendly wave. She looks about for other familiar faces as well. Outside the changing room, R'zar nods! "Yes, we definately should find
one - looks like most of the 'good' seats are filling up!" Outside the changing room, Ana waves over to Onshana to join her and her
sister, Aislinn. Outside the changing room, Nerian waves at the Southern folk, then bounces
happily over to R'zar. "Hihi!" Anja looks around at the others and grins. She peeks out the tent at allll
the people. Outside the changing room, T'dru begins tuning his gitar. "I'd say not."
Xavier's less than graceful approach causes a fleeting grin to cross his lips
but he stays quiet, focusing instead on some warmup chording. Outside the changing room, Mediha sits near the back of all the rows of chairs,
in avid conversation with her neighbors. Outside the changing room, Shadara climbs down from Saith's back with the
help of a gracefully extended foreleg. Shadara looks back at Saith and smiles
gently as the green dragon watches them with whirling eyes. Outside the changing room, Lashana nearly beams at Xavier, "Ah, there
you are, lad. Those are our sheets, I take it?" She seems neither overly
bemused, nor quite angry, though there is the slightest tremble of, one might
think, nervousness, in her voice. Declyn pulls his head back and holds up a hand. "Looks like I get to
have what I've always wanted - a captive audience." With no further chat,
he steps out of the room and hurries towards the staging area. Declyn leaves the changing room. Outside the changing room, Onshana grabs Remma's arm. "Come on.."
She pulls her cousin over to Ana and her sister. "Hello Ana." She
settles herself down next to the bluerider.."How are you?" Outside the changing room, Xavier nods, "Yes, master Aurea said you
needed these right away." Outside the changing room, Ana smiles "Just great, Shana" she replies.
"This is Aislinn...one of my sisters. Ais? This is Onshana...who Impressed
with me" Outside the changing room, Nerian waves happily at Lily, too. Outside the changing room, Aislinn leans forward to peer around Ana "Well
met, Onshana" she says, politely with a smile. Outside the changing room, E'niel comes striding down the beach, dragon parked
in the distance, his features bright with cheerfulness. Sharia chuckles dryly at her Master's words, giving a quick shake of her
head. "Always the showoff," she murmurs quietly, then gives the
dress she's wearing her complete attention. Outside the changing room, Merina follows R'zar towards a likely area, pausing
to waves to E'niel "Hello!" Outside the changing room, "Well, don't just stand there lad, hand them
about, and you'll be taking second gitar," Lashana gestures to the empty
chair, taking the music sheets witha practiced sweep of her hand. Outside the changing room, Onshana leans over to look around Ana and gives
the other a wave.. "Hello." She then pat's her cousin on the back.
"This is, my cousin, Remma.. She just moved to Southern.. Primly, Asenah preens, fixing the drape of her sari just so, picking imaginary
lint from her long, swirling skirts. Outside the changing room, Ana nods, grinning "Nice to meet you Remma...you
like Southern so far?" Outside the changing room, Remma does a sorta stumble jump from her cousins
pat on the back " Hi" Outside the changing room, Shadara grins and waves as she comes out from
wherever she was napping. Outside the changing room, Xavier quickly grabs up his gitar and strums a
tuning chord. *TWANG* goes the G-string as it breaks, sending chills up his
spine. "Darn, he mutters under his breath" Outside the changing room, Shereth poses for all the male dragons showing
off her lovey glowy hide..She sends croons this way and that.. Outside the changing room, E'niel falls into step behind Merina and R'zar,
his long fingers reaching to tweak the goldrider's tunic sleave. "Heyhey,
Weyrling... " he calls softly, grinning at her with his fleshy lips pulled
wide. Outside the changing room, Xavier scrambles for a new string and quickly
replaces the broken string. Outside the changing room, T'dru sees the reappearance of the WeaverMaster
and sets his gitar aside, picking up the drum's sticks with a practiced hand.
The deep sounds of the drum roll out over the crowd, calling for attention
and silence. Outside the changing room, Merina chuckles "Hey E'niel. We're just gonna
sit up here to watch the show. Wanna join us?" Outside the changing room, Saith moves over to settle by Calinth with a rumble,
head resting on the big brown's forelegs. Outside the changing room, E'niel pauses to take in the sight of the young
goldweyrling, brows arched, "Sure.. Maybe you will find something in
the show that catches your eye.. " Lips quirking with a teasing grin,
he clears his throat and makes his way to sit with the others. Outside the changing room, Mediha quietly sits as people bustle about her.
Wide eyed, she waits for the show. Next to her, a Cove fostering, of a different
cothold here, is holding up her toy frog up for Mediha to investigate something
on it. Outside the changing room, R'zar smirks, "I'm absolutely /certain/ you'll
find something like that, Weyrsecond." Outside the changing room, Declyn gives the Harpers a nodding bow of his
burnished head, stepping into 'centerstage'. His voice carries the slight
tones that only a truly nerve-wracked person can. "Gentlefolk. If I may
have your attention?" He pauses and takes a breath. "Welcome to
Cove Hold's gather and the latest in WeaverHall fashions. For your entertainment,
we'll be telling this in a story. A story of dastardly doings and damsels
in distress. I ask you, the audience, to help us in this endeavor by clapping
your hands together for the Hero and making whatever derogatory noise you
prefer for the Villain. I hold with a simple boo and hiss myself but choose
your sounds." He smiles some and gestures with a hand. "And without
further ado, may we present The Show." His voice rings out and he steps
aside quickly. Outside the changing room, Merina takes a seat in a group of empty chairs,
enough for her, R'zar, E'niel, and still leave a few empty "Hrm. Well,
I'm more looking for things for my weyr, rather than clothes, but I'll look. Outside the changing room, T'dru beats the drums one more time, then shifts
the gitar around beginning a simple melody evocative of a springlike day. Outside the changing room, The lull of the crowd tapers to murmuring. Outside the changing room, From Sky Above Cove Hold, Uarth emerges from Between
with a blast of cold air! Outside the changing room, Saith walks along west to more beach. Outside the changing room, Orchellth wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Outside the changing room, J'ran wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Outside the changing room, Following T'dru's lead, Xavier weaves a simple
counter melody around T'dru's main theme. Outside the changing room, Uarth wings down from the sky above the beach. Outside the changing room, Tr'bor slides off of Uarth with practiced grace. Outside the changing room, Lashana stands up with her flute and weaves her
own soft harmony into that of her fellows, walking the short distance from
teh Harper's area to the mainstage, attemtpting a light hearted skip on her
way. Outside the changing room, E'niel reaches over to tug playfully at Merina's
tunic sleeve again, murmuring quietly, "Take a look at yourself, Weyrling,
I think it is time you treat yourself to something "dressy".. "
Smirking, the Weyrsecond settles back in his chair, eyes on the presentation
before him. Under his breath he mutters, "Heck, maybe even R'zar will
find something nice to wear.. " Amusement tweaks his grin. Outside the changing room, Declyn finally stops moving somewhere near the
changing room, making a beckoning gesture through the curtains to the Damsel
and her Friends. Outside the changing room, J'ran begins to move into the crowd to find a
place to sit, then grins and waves as he sees Tr'bor land. Anja grins at Telinda and makes room for her to slip out of the tent. Telinda and Sharia leave the changing room. Merina chuckles, but remains silent as the show is starting. Tr'bor wades through people to get to J'ran. "Hiya." Telinda heads out onto the stage, one hand delicately caught up in her skirts
to stop them from trailing through the dust of the floor, showing off a touch
of the long legs that are well hidden below the skirts. She stops as she sees
Lashana, and then drifts -- surely that's the only way to describe the movement
-- slowly that way, beckoning to Sharia to join them, "Delightful weather
we're having today, don't you think?" she simpers, flashing a brilliant
smile and dimples. At the Damsel and her Friends' appearance, and my what a picture they make,
T'dru's gitar softens into a simple tune, the melody easily remembered by
the crowd and pleasing to the ear. Sharia enters the stage proper, waving a fan slowly in front of her face
and sighing as she gazes around with an air of boredom. "If you say so,
dear," she answers absently, rolling her eyes as she steps over to Telinda
and Lashana. "Bit chill for my tastes though." E'niel scans the crowd, and upon seeing Tr'bor, and the other Southernites,
he lifts his oversized hand and gives an enthusiastic wave. As soon as the
ladies walk out onto the stage his attention is caught and held, his hands
folding into his lap as he quietly watches. Xavier quickly changes the tune that he is playing into a light, lively theme
that will become associated with the young Damsel of the play. J'ran hugs Tr'bor and finds a place for them to sit and watch the show. Lashana lowers her flute to her side, smiling awkwardly, "Lovely, lovely
day. Ahh, yes." she nearly beams at Telinda and Sharia as they near. Mediha's eyes are drawn to the stage, the finery, and the unfolding story.
With a light grin, she sits back, trying to shush the chattering youngster
next to her. R'zar rolls his eyes at E'niel's comment, but turns to watch the show, grinning. Declyn sticks a hand into the changing room, his attention fair caught by
the surrounding play. Hopefully, he doesn't accidentally get stuck with wildly
waving pins or something. He lets out a low hissing, "Villain - come
on out." Anja comes out of the changing room. Telinda tosses her head nonchalently, eyes drifting over Sharia's form for
a moment with a smile, "No wonder my dear, that fan will surely cool
you down!" A hand raises to shield her eyes against the sun, and surely
that's no movement of the practical Telinda, but someone else? Must be, she'd
normally squint. As she stops in the middle of the stage, the colours shift
in her dress from warm to cold, heralding the entrance of the 'villian' as
'he' enters. E'dar and Lily come out of the changing room. Xavier boos as the vilin comes out on stage. A collective negative reaction greets the 'villian'. Anja manages to slip from the changing room to the bushes that border the
beach. As villians are apt to do, she sneaks from bush to bush, working her
way slowly behind the damsel and her friends. Every now and then, her face
peers from behind a bush, an ever so evil grin on her scarred face. Merina boos, getting into the show. E'niel leans toward the golden Weyrling and whispers, nodding toward the
Weyrwoman on the stage, "Now there ya go... A fairly spiffy gather dress
if I've ever seen one." As Merina boos, the Weyrsecond blinks, surprised
until he catches sight of the Villian. Grinning, he too adds his boos, leaning
back to enjoy. Sharia rolls her eyes again at Telinda's comment. "But I would get such
a burn from the sun if I didn't fan myself!" she protests. "I'm
surprised neither of you have one. You'll look like spiderclaws at the next
Gather!" A horrified look crosses her face, as if nothing could be worse
than a touch of sunburn. Shadara gives a gasp as she see's E'dar and then she smiles, "That looks
fabulous on him, don't you think Ana?" she says softly, but loud enough
to be heard as she gazes at her weyrmate with a smile. A rather familiar wee one points and shrieks loudly, "Anja!" Creeping stealthily as his large form will allow, E'dar, the Henchman, crouches
along behind Anja. The sinister grin he attempts to adopt has rather comical
results as he peeks out over the Villain's head. J'ran guffaws loudly at Anja's appearance, then slaps a hand over his mouth
to stifle the laughter, so as not to draw too much attention. Telinda claps a horrified hand to her face, "Spiderclaws?! Me?! Oh my!
Oh my, oh my!" She shakes her head, eyes going wide with the thought,
"I shall just have to have a fan then, I cannot be seen looking pinker
than a man caught with his trousers down!" Ana chuckles, replying to Shar "He looks great!" Lashana giggles. Giggles? Yes, quite awkwardly, though she manages it. "A
fan? Well, who would have guessed. Yes, I certainly should need to get myself
one." she bobs her head with fervent agreement to Telinda. Anja seems to murmur to her evil henchman, E'dar. Her eyes flashing over
the friends, settling and seeming to bore in on the damsel. J'ran snickers. Mediha chuckles at the forced tittering from the Island River harper. Shadara chuckles, 'I'm gonna have to steal all those loose clothes of his
and get him decked out like that all the time he looks so good in that." Onshana stays quiet, though she looks like she wants to something... Tr'bor grins at J'ran. Ana laughs "Please do! Though...someone might try to steal him if you
do" she tells Shar slyly. "But alas, I have no others," Sharia replies to Lashana and Telinda.
"Though a man with his pants down would certainly add some excitement
to this day." She peers around hopefully, eyeing several of the riders
watching the show. E'niel chuckles at Telinda's words, shaking his head. For a moment his gaze
strays across the skulking villians, pausing as he murmurs appreciatively
at their atire. Anja looks at E'dar once more, stands and bursts out of the bushes, pouncing
like a wild feline. She moves directly towards Telinda taking hold of her
arm from behind. Medihagasps scandelously at the action, noting that the music has turned
dark in the interim. T'dru keeps an eye fixed on the moving bushes, his gitar sliding pitch abruptly
in a horrific chord. His deep baritone, booing enthusiastically out, adding
to the overall discordant sound. "Loook OOUUUTTT!" the loud wee one shrieks, pointing still. It would seem the best way, E'dar's decided, is to play dumb. With a somewhat
vapid look about his handsome features, he nods mutely to Da Boss. His mouth
moves in a representation of muddied words, and his lips draw back from his
teeth in an even more abortive attempt at being evil and cruel looking. Gentle
brown eyes do manage to glitter as they come to rest on Da Perty Lady. Telinda sniffs dramatically at Sharia's words, "No fan! Well, this day.."
and she breaks off, a loud shriek echoing over the stage as he arm is grabbed
from behind, "Unhand me, you vile villian! I demand it immediately!"
she says, her voice scaling high. Lashana tries with some difficulty to shriek, her attempt somewhat stymied
by a stifled chuckle at E'dar's own attempt at evilness. SHe winds up snickering,
a sound utterly drowned out by Telinda's true shriek, thankfully. Mediha whispers to the lad to her right, "Does that Damsel always sound
like that?" He shakes his head, grinning. Declyn starts up a constantly nervous rubbing of his thumb over the palm
of his hand. Were anyone close enough to hear him, the words, "Mind the
clothing. Don't rip them up or anything." would be clearly distinguished. A little slow on the uptake, the dense Henchman springs a moment later, sweeping
up behind the Damsel. Taking advantage of her be-skirted form, considering
how difficult it might be to run in such a thing (not to mention unladylike),
he scoops her up in his arms, almost as a beau would his new wife. Pantomiming
a nasty laugh, he looks to Anja for further direction about what exactly he
was supposed to /do/ with his catch. Sharia gets a jealous look on her face as the Villain grabs Telinda. "Of
all the nerve!" She stomps over to Anja, batting her lashes. "You
don't want her, you want me. But I can understand your mistake. She was closer,
after all." She steps closer to Anja, giving a disappointed little sniff. T'dru winces at the horrible noise coming out of the Damsel's throat. Such
a pity. So lovely and she sounds like a shrew. Onshana leans over to Ana and mutters softly. "Look at Telinda! She
looks great." She gives a little sigh.. "I wish I looked like her..
It's amazing she doesn't have every guy." She then lets her eyes drift
to another woman and she trails off muttering about all the imperfections.. Shadara looks at Ana and her eyes narrow a little, "Oh I don't know,
I think that'd be up to E'dar." she syas with a chuckle as she goes back
to watching him, "Sides, gonna be hard to lure him off without me noticing
he's not in bed at night, since we've weyrmated." Anja gives an evil alugh as she gives Telinda into her henchman's arms, "Why
would I want you when I got her !" She moves back towards the bushes,
walking behind E'dar. Ana smiles at Shar "I'd heard that, Shar..." she says. "Congratulations!"
She gives Shana a little nudge "Why do you say that? You're awfully pretty,
Shana...not like ugly little me" Telinda continues to shriek and shriek, sounding almost as bad as some of
the local felines, and kicks her legs, ruffling the skirts terribly, before
she faints -- or rather in this case pretends to -- and goes limp in the henchman's
arms! The wee one yet again blurts in a childish voice, "Where're ya goin',
Anja..?" Her father tries to keep her from standing in her seat, whispering
something in her ear. E'niel leans toward the Weyrleader and murmurs, "Seems they need a hero
at this point... A handsome Weyrleader perhaps?" and so said, he nudges
his boss and turns back to watch Telinda faint, brow cocked with humor. Rightio. Hard to miss where he's supposed to go with Anja kicking at his
heels. Hefting the Damsel a little higher in his arms, he pauses to mumble
to Da Boss, "Little heavy for a Damsel, ain't she?" then shrugs
and continues on. Maybe they shoulda got the other one instead. But, she's
da boss. HE heads off stage with his catch. T'dru reaches a hand down, fingers tapping across it's surface in a quietly
ominous rumbling. Sharia stomps her foot, poutingly. "But I'm sooooo much prettier than
she is." She turns swiftly to E'dar, raising her voice and calling, "Don't
you agree?" As the villian and henchman start to withdraw, she gives
a piteous sob. "Doesn't *anyone* think I'm pretty?!" Lashana stomps her foot angrily, putting on her best 'bad aprentice look,
and puts hands to hips, "How dare you, How, how..." she puases,
"DARE you, " She growls at Anja, making a half pitiful attempt to
follow the villains, mincing down the stairs of the stage after them. Mediha boo's at the henchman, abruptly clapping to support the forelorn Friend
Sharia. Onshana gives Ana a shocked look. "You ugly?!?! I'd say not." Of
course she could just be saying that, cause her green is flirting with Ana's
blue. "Anyone would be lucky to be with you." E'dar goes into the changing room. E'niel emits a lude whistle directed to Sharia, his grin comical. Well, they
said get into it. Anja laughs, "Heavy perhaps, but might pretty she is..." She turns
her attention to the friends, laughs once more, and pulls E'dar into the changing
room with her. One Greenrider calls out loudly from the middle of the throng, "I do.
Come out to my weyr and I'll prove how pretty I think you are lady." Telinda doesn't seem to be all that -faint- and as they head off the stage,
she serves E'dar a decent kick with her leg. There! That'll teach him. Oh
yeah, she's supposed to have fainted. Whoops. You go into the changing room. Anja comes into the changing room. E'dar nearly drops Telinda in his haste to tend to his toe-bitten leg. "Owww!"
he whines. Telinda snorts, "I'll get you later E'dar, don't you ever call me heavy
again or I'll have you out on dawn sweeps! And watch the dress, it's too nice
to ruin!: Outside the changing room, Ana sighs, half-distracted by the interesting
play up on stage. "If you say so..." she says, frowning. "But
not many seem to want me..." Her eyes rest on Lily for a long time, and
she smiles. Then a little shrug. Belan chuckles. "It sounded good. Was it?" Outside the changing room, Shadara eeps at Telinda kicks E'dar, a faint gasp
coming from her, "Oh no, I hope he's okay?" she says with a look
of worry on her face as she tries to get her cumbersome self standing. Telinda giggles, "I have no idea" she mentions to Belan, her mercurial
mood changed once more! Anja laughs, "I think the damsel hurt the henchman though." Outside the changing room, Sharia whirls quickly to wink and beam at the
riders giving catcalls, then turns to Lashana with a flounce. "I can't
believe they took her instead of me," she mutters, then sighs. "Maybe
we should get the Lord Holder, to talk some sense into those two ruffians.
After all, *he* thinks I'm pretty enough!" Outside the changing room, Lily skirts around the back of the crowd, quite
sneakily. Nobody sees her, nope. She stops on the other side of a certain
green to hide. Outside the changing room, Lashana turns back to Sharia with a little sigh
and a sniff for good measure, "Well, and, and..what about meeeee?"
she wails, suddenly, unable to resist the ability to match her tone to the
Harper's music, making hte whine into a sung note. "Or maybe the Lady,
she'd be right upset, I'm sure." E'dar pouts a bit at Telinda. "I was just trying to be funny,"
he protests. Outside the changing room, T'dru's chording falters when Lashana matches
note, laughter making it difficult for him to finger effectively, but he quickly
picks up the pace again breaking into a rollicking rhythm. Telinda hrms at E'dar, contemplating the comment for a moment, "You
sure? Outside the changing room, That same Greenrider stands back up and yells
out towards Lashana. "I'll take you too, lady." A couple of considerate
friends to the rider, settle her back down in her seat with a temptingly waves
wineskin. Anja grins at E'dar, "Perhaps we should tie her up so she doesn't hurt
us anymore ?" E'dar nods, still pouting and holding his sore leg. "Gag her too?" he asks, grinning over at Da Boss. Telinda shrugs, "In that case I'm sorry for hurting you, and you can
have a day off sweeps tomorrow!" Outside the changing room, Sharia snorts but nods agreeably to Lashana, then
minces offstage, presumably to go get the Lady Holder. Or Lord Holder if he's
more convenient. Sharia comes into the changing room. Outside the changing room, E'niel smirks at the greenrider, but nods his
agreement, leaning again to chat with R'zar, "All this face paint and
purty dresses really brings out the looker in the fems, dontcha agree?"
His tone is steeped heavily with a backwoods accent, feind of course. Anja smiles at Telinda, "Nay, no gag... she can't scream in terror if
we gag her." Belan watches Asenah and nods. Outside the changing room, Lashana follows behind, setting her flute carefully
and incongruously on the edge of the stage first. Lashana comes into the changing room. Asenah rises from her seat with a start, having bee na bit distracted. She
rearranges her sari as she asks, "Our turn already?" Anja finds a length of short room and moves over, "How about we just
tie your hands together ?" Belan nods, "Yes Ma'am/ With a quick nod, a bit of nervousness flitting in her eyes, Asenah heads
for the stage, glancing around to be sure the appropriate parties follow. Asenah leaves the changing room. Outside the changing room, R'zar chuckles and nods at E'niel, "Well,
yes, only not nearly as coarsly as you do." Belan, Sharia and Lashana leave the changing room. Outside the changing room, A young drum apprentice dares to pick up the sticks
and beat out the partial general warning most holders and riders should be
familiar with, but he sort of forgets it halfway through and instead breaks
into a well timed booombooombooom as the Hero makes his entrance. Outside the changing room, Mediha cheers loudly, caught up in the enthusiasm
of those closest to her. Outside the changing room, Aislinn's eyes widen and she leans closer to Ana,
pointing at Belan and whispering something to the bluerider. Outside the changing room, Lyndrael wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Anja holds out the rope towards Telinda, "I won't tie it too tight..." Outside the changing room, Belan looks at the crowd a grins to Aislinn, then
looks back to Asenah. Outside the changing room, E'niel chuckles at R'zar, elbowing him again,
"Hey.. I'm trying to get into it. I was playing the part of a backwoods
cothold drudge." As more people come out of the changing room, he turns
his attention and smiles, waiting for the next faze of the play. Outside the changing room, At the emergence of the Hero and the Holder, several
girls in the crown seem to be rather more enthusiastic with their 'wooooos'
than might be considered necessary. Outside the changing room, Declyn yells loudly in Belan's general direction
- a little too loudly but it seems to vent whatever worry he's feeling over
this entire production. Outside the changing room, Leading the party of would-be Villain-slayers,
Asenah sweeps out onto the stage. Regal in bearing, her keeps her chin high,
shoulders back, skirts sweeping the stage carelessly. What dirt would dare
to touch /her/ outfittings? "I don't see her," the Lady Holder turns
to the friends, "Didn't you say she was here with some nasty men? Ready
to run away with them?" Telinda nods, "You'd better make sure, or you'll be explaining that
to K'laarn and Tiarnath!" Outside the changing room, Ana chuckles, nodding to Aislinn...and laughing
harder as Ais frowns at all the 'woo's' and catcalls Belan receives as he
appears. Outside the changing room, Sharia re-enters the stage area, kicking at the
ground as if she's still pouting about not being taken. "They're already
gone, Lady, but *someone* has to talk to those nasty, ignorant men!"
she addresses Asenah in a whining tone. "They didn't even *consider*
taking me and Lashana." Anja laughs, "no thanks..." She ties Telinda's hands loosely together,
loosely enough she can rescue herself. Outside the changing room, Belan strides manfully after the Lady Holder,
a concerned scowl on his visage. He looks at the bushes, the crowd and the
Harpers... no villian! Outside the changing room, T'dru's song on the gitar fades into a more heroic
rhythm, the notes intricate and precise. Outside the changing room, Lashana nods her heartfelt agreement with Sharia
as she ascends the stares, arms crossing her chest in a mighty attempt at
petulance. "Tha'ts right, ma'am. They, well, they just took her and left.
Just like that. They did." Outside the changing room, At the appearance of Asenah, E'niel's brows, both
of them, shoot upwards in surprise. Silence overtakes him as he looks her
over, then forcefully looks to the others of her group. Outside the changing room, A journeywoman, having taken Lashana's place at
flute, holds down the staccato harmony to T'dru's rythym, a building note,
one of sustained expectation. Outside the changing room, Asenah vocally pats the despairing Sharia on the
head with the words, "There, there, dear. Your betrothed would be ever-so-disappointed
if /you/ were to run off with strange men. Don't you think?" With a little
frown drawing wrinkles between her brows, she sweeps the area with her eyes.
Huh. "Well, I suppose there's nothing for it but to organize the Guards
for a ground search.." The last word stirs an idea in her, and she nods
her head slightly. "Yes, yes... and Riders. They're good at searching
for people, aren't they? Yes, they simply must help as well." Outside the changing room, Shadara is still watching the changing room with
worry, one hand curled on her stomach, the other on her back. Outside the changing room, Belan nods, "Yes, Lady Holder. Let's ask
the Riders to help. " Outside the changing room, J'ran stops trying to figure out the plot, what
little of it there is, and just leans back against Tr'bor, enjoying the show. Outside the changing room, With a whush of air and the quick beat of limony
green wings, Tybeth launches in the air. Instead of flying away, however,
she circles over the crowd, wings stirring up air to rustle clothes and everything
else as she dips down closer for a landing. She backwings lightly, near the
stage, to allow her rider to slip down from her back. Lily, her face all seriousness,
strides towards the stage and those there. "News travels fast,"
she announces, her tone rather imperious...at least, untill she almost laughs.
"I heard there was trouble?" Okay, so she might not look so serious
now that she's smirking. She strolls up to the Lady Holder and bows politely. Anja grins, "The rider has arrived." Outside the changing room, A few random people smack hands over mouths, smothering
laughs. Outside the changing room, Sharia gives a look of distaste at Asenah's words.
"But I want a *real* man, not that idiot I'm betrothed to." She
kicks at the ground again, then gives a surprised look. "Riders? Those
uncouth fluffheads who think they're better than us?" She doesn't look
the least bit repentant over her words as one of those 'uncouth fluffheads'
arrives. Outside the changing room, E'niel hears the battering of wings again the
air above him and cranes his head to look. Grinning, the Weyrsecond follows
the dragon's decent and smooth landing, applauding the arrival of the *true*
hero of the show. Outside the changing room, Shadara gives a hiss as she hear's what's being
said, a frown crossing her face as she glares at the child daring to call
riders uncouth fluffheads Outside the changing room, Lashana simpers at the arriving Lily, batting
her eyelashes ever so prettily. (All right, so she looks like an overwrought
owl) "Oh, Lady Rider ma'am! There is, there is." Outside the changing room, Declyn chokes on something - what Sharia said
or perhaps he just got air knocked down his throat from the green dragon created
breeze. Outside the changing room, Belan stifles a chuckle at Sharia's words then
listens to the Lady Holder intently. Outside the changing room, "We'll just keep a close eye to be sure /they/
don't steal anyone away, hmmm?" The Lady concludes, as she turns to Sharia.
"Well," she asks, waving a hand at the girl, "What are you
waiting for then? Go find a rider to help!" Oh! What? Oh! She turns,
blinking, towards the Rider with such good timing. "Yes, well,"
she nods, trying not to seem too disconcerted. Readjusting her sari, she sniffs,
and notes quietly, "I'm sure you'd like to help, wouldn't you? And you
can find some of your friends, as well?" It almost seems there should
be a condescending 'little' before the word friends. A cool glare is passed
Sharia's way. "You may be jealous of your friend's prospects, but, really,
how can they come steal you if you scare away all the riders that want to
help?" Outside the changing room, Lily shoots Sharia a rather nasty look. Then,
she schools her face into an attentive look. "What seems to be the problem?"
She scowls again, lightly, at the Lady's tone, rolling her eyes just slightly.
"Dragonriders are always ready to help, ma'am." Outside the changing room, T'dru misses yet another beat in the quiet strumming
playing in the background. His head bows as he hides laughter and continues
on, hoping no one noticed the sour notes. Declyn comes into the changing room. Anja grins over at Declyn. Outside the changing room, Sharia has no answer to the Lady Holder's comments
and so just snorts petulantly and moves off to the background, hefting skirts
with one hand and tugging them away from the rider, as if she might catch
something if she touched Lily. She picks up her fan again and gives it an
idle wave or two while the rider and Lady Holder converse. Outside the changing room, Looking again to the bushes, Belan turns to the
Lady Holder. "I'll take care of the ground Search, Ma'am." Outside the changing room, D'fit wanders over, head tipping as he watches
the proceedings curiously. R'zar and E'niel are spotted, and he goes over
to join them, quick as can be. "What's all this?" he queries, soft
so he doesn't disrupt the proceedings. Outside the changing room, "Don't be silly! We've no time for explanations!"
Asenah protests, shooing everyone off--they've interrupted her beauty treatment
after all--with the words, "We simply /must/ find her and bring her back.
It wouldn't do at all if her father found out I--you'd lost her!" Outside the changing room, Tr'bor shakes his head, unable to follow. Outside the changing room, It seesm that Xavier has forgotton all about why
he is here. To provide music. He is so caught up with the play that he is
just sitting and watching what is unfolding on stage. Outside the changing room, E'niel gets up, moving around the quiet Merina,
and settles next to D'fit to whisper what has happened thus far in the show.
All the while he emits chuckles and humorfilled grins. Declyn slips in, eyeing everyone's clothing critically. "Everything's
still on?" He eyes Telinda's dress especially anxiously. "Because
we should be building up for the climax here and I don't want any bits and
pieces of you falling off." Anja grins at Declyn, "And she's tied up too..." motioning to Telinda's
hands tied loosely together. Telinda shakes her head, "I don't think they managed to dislodge anything,
yet!" Outside the changing room, Lily coughs, abruptly. "/Who/ am I trying
to find, /ma'am/?" She puts a hand to her hip in annoyance, not really
paying attention to the movement. Outside the changing room, For an instant, Asenah seems a little distracted,
her eyes travelling towards a certain bronzerider. She mirrors his earlier
interest, but does not allow herself too much of a moment, before she's back
into the 'fashion show' and her character. Outside the changing room, Lashana turns on her heel at the Lady Holder's
words, and follows after Sharia, giving a sharp glance to the Harper's corner
and a half stifled hiss to Xavier and the other apprentice on drums who seem
to have forgotten their duties. T'dru merely recieves a lifted brow, and a
half shake of the head for his laughter and efforts. Outside the changing room, "The Lady Euphoria, of course," Asenah
answers, incredulously, her eyes wide. "I thought you'd said you /heard/?"
Just like a rider. Hmph. Outside the changing room, Ever eager to help, the wee lass yet again innocently
squeaks brightly, "The bad people 're in the tent!" Outside the changing room, Without further silly ramblings about damsels
and villains, Asenah leaves the rider with this meager explanation, turning
back towards the 'Hold'. Outside the changing room, Belan heads off the stage, noisily rattling the
bushes, looking under the stage, behind the tents, under the dragon's wings.
His eyes search through the crowd and he strides amongst them, peerinf this
way and that. No villian. Outside the changing room, Sharia gives a last glower at the greenrider,
then drifts off, swinging her fan as she leaves the stage, trailing after
the Lady Holder. Sharia comes into the changing room. Asenah comes into the changing room. Declyn eyerolls at the ropes but grins humorously, "Trust you to think
of that." He hurries over to check Telinda's skirt in a most professional
manner, mumbling a little as he twitches at the train, then walks right out
without another word. Outside the changing room, Lily rolls her eyes, then coughs again. "Oh,
I'm sorry, I forgot. We're looking for a damsel in distress." She turns
on heal to go back to her dragon and to 'sweep' the area. Outside the changing room, E'niel chuckles at the children, his eyes glistening
with immense humor. Declyn leaves the changing room. Belan comes into the changing room. Outside the changing room, A giggling child's voice hollers, "/In/ the
tent!" Outside the changing room, Lashana does not go back to the changing room
with the others, but steps back up the back of the stage, settlign herself
into a vacant chair and taking back up her flute, adding the building climactic
tempo of the music. Outside the changing room, A couple of weaver apprentices come huffpuffing
up with a hastily executed rocky backdrop. They sort of stand behind it, and
hold it up. One of them whispers to the other. "What's this for again?"
The second one answers. "It's the Villain's lair. Sheehs. Don't you know
anything?" E'dar, Anja and Telinda leave the changing room. E'niel casts his gaze toward the rising backdrop and smile, waiting patiently
for the next act as he quietly conversates with D'fit. "It's really a
fun play.. the clothes are nice too, though a bit too "dressy" for
my taste." An ocean of booing rises like some wierd tide. Anja looks fugitively this way and that, dragging Telinda by her tied wrists,
making her way towards the 'lair'. T'dru lets out a sibilant hissing noise at Anja's reappearance, and the eager
apprentice rolls the drums appropriately sinisterly. T'dru slides a surreptitious
toe out and nudges Xavier's bemused form, at the same time striking up that
dischordant sliding noise on his gitar. Limping a bit from the earlier kick--likely playing up the mincing, our trusty,
vacuous Henchman makes his way in with Villain and Damsel, wandering along
beside them. His eyes continually flick to the Lady, as if she might escape
in the few seconds between looks. D'fit nods slowly, eyeing Telinda's dress like he'd never seen something
so impractical in his life. "I think I'm getting the hang of it,"
he voices, joining in with the crowd's 'boo'ing. Anja glares at her henchman, "Clumsy oaf, next time I pick someone to
help me with my dastardly plans, I'll pick someone that has even half a brain..."
she hisses as she reaches the 'lair'. Lashana lowers her flute to boo and hiss at the villain's approach, nodding
with approval at the positively horrific melody emitting from her ensemble. Mediha snickers as spittle flies from the Villian's mouth with all that hissing... Telinda stumbles after the 'villian' but seems to have regained her composure
from her earlier fainting fit, "What do you think you're doing, you misbegotten
son of a watchwher?! Don't you even know how to walk a lady out, instead of
just dragging her off.." she takes a look around the 'lair' and eeks,
"Oh my! There's a spinner web!" she shouts out and then goes back
to her telling off voice, "Don't you think you could've done this whole
thing with a little more decorum? I mean, all this sneaking about is pathetic!"
A mischeivous smile overcomes her features, "I bet you're one of those
people who blushes when you're caught with your pants down, aren't you? Bertha's
told me all about those sort!" E'niel snickers, eyes bright as he mutters to D'fit, "They couldn't
have picked a better person to play the villian... " The 'lair' moves to the side some and an indignant yelp resounds from behind
it. Declyn strides off out of sight. The lair quits moving and Declyn calmly
reappears, resuming his station by the changing room. "Hey! I've got a half a brain!" Even if only just, it still counts.
The Henchman harumphs softly, looking ready to deliver a kick of his own.
Telinda's ranting distracts him, and he, indeed, blushes. What an amateur. Anja tries hard not to burst out laughing, her face distorting at the effort
and making her look that much more sinister. She grins, "Spinners make
wonderful pets though, they keep out the vytols." Anja forces Telinda to sit near the center of the 'lair' and looks up as
the top tilts down as if ready to fall onto the stage. Mediha winces as the backdrop wobbles. Telinda stares, no, more like glares upwards at Anja, and snorts, "Think
to give me a better view down here, do you? Think it'll look bigger down here!
Well, I'll have you know" she glances and winces at the backdrop, but
continues on, "that you're one miserable, pathetic villian! And what
kind of lair do you call this? I've seen worse in weyrs! Isn't it supposed
to be dark, and gloomy, and generally depressing? I'd call this positively
vibrant!" Making a valiant effort not to laugh, E'dar snorts a bit here and there.
"It is a little bright, don't you think?" he asks his Boss, in a
meek voice. T'dru tries catching Lashana's eye and slowly switches back into the Damsel
theme since she's getting the upperhand of the Villain. Flute already poised for such a change, Lashana merely nods, twining the
soft notes of the Damsel's theme in on her side as well. Anja laughs, "Aye, bright perhaps... but that's so we can see you that
much better... have you ever tried to have your evil way with a damsel in
a gloomy, dpressing lair ?" She eyes E'dar, "Should of left you
on that farm, shoveling out the stables. Where you belong." E'niel hoots supportively to the Damsel, grinning from ear to ear. And there's that blush again. Apparently, he's not a very experienced Henchman.
Clearing his throat lightly, he shifts back into the vapid tone he's developed,
and pouts down at the Villain, "I like stables." Anja eyes E'niel, "Eye, you look like a runner and you smell like one
too... now be quiet and keep a watch out." she motions towards the front
of the stage. Declyn cues Belan and Lily with an upraised hand. Belan comes out of the changing room. Wild cheering once again momentarily drowns out the dialog. E'dar assumes Anja is eyeing him, and not E'niel. With a befuddled frown,
he sniffs under his arms as he wanders towards the edge of the 'lair'. "I
don't smell like a runner," he mutters to himself, making a face, "They
smell nice." Apparently, from his expression, he does not. Nareisa slips over to watch the action, finding a quiet spot somewhere. Lily crosses around behind the stage to join Belan. "This is the place?,"
she questions in a mock-whisper. The wee lass cries, trying to wrestle out of her father's grip, "Leave
her alone, you meany!" The hero searches through the bushes, snagging a pants leg and he shoots
an apolegetic glance to Declyn. He continues then stops. "Aha! A trail!
Let's see where it goes!" T'dru sees Belan's and Lily's arrival, greeting it with the appropriate tune. E'niel missed Anja's /look/ when he was leaning over to D'fit whispering
about something or another. Settling back in his chair, laughter ringing in
the people sitting before him's ears, he turns to watch the show, emitting
loud applause for the rider as she comes onto the scene. Anja grins at Telinda, "They'll never find you... I would never leave
a trail for you..." but her clumsey henchman might. The apprentice that is on cue, at the drums, beats out the Hero's Entrance,
nearly drowning out T'dru and Lashanaalike as they play his uplifting fanfare. Shadara watches E'dar, still standing with a faint frown of worry on her
face as she sees him limping. D'fit chuckles, "That henchman is good - rounds out our villian nicely."
Speaking of which, he lets out another hiss at Anja's menacing. Lily turns and waves cheerily enough at the other riders. Yes, she's the
real hero, she knows it! Then, she grins apologeticly to Declyn and sneaks
after the hero. "I'm right behind you. And, I brought rope in case we
need it!" She pulls out two lengths of rope from her pocket. Belan creeps from the bushes and up onto teh stage with exagerated mincing
steps. He pauses, turns to Lily and puts a finger to his lips. Whispering
to her, "I hear voices inside! Got a rope?" Declyn involuntarily cringes as Belan's trous get caught then shrugs fatalistically
with a bound to happen sort of expression. Belan grins, and nods, "I'll go to the other side of the opening. Wait
fot my signal?" he whispers. Telinda laughs at Anja's villian, "You, you think you're so clever.
Did you realise you'd left your trousers undone?" Nareisa eyes the goings on, rather fascinated. She finds something to lean
against, and just watches, snickering in the appropriate places. Our 'trusty' Henchman stands near the entrance, idly staring off into space,
his back to the trail even. Hints as to his thoughts are betrayed by his quiet
mutterings about runners and stables. Anja eyes Telinda, "Undone perhaps... and undone on purpose..."
She gives TElinda her best wicked smile and lets out a loud laugh. Lily nods, creeping up to her side of the 'opening.' Belan tip-toes across to the lair's opening and he sees the henchman! He
grabs him from behind and holds tight. Feeling sorry for the Henchman, a young female weyrling calls out, "Lookout
cutey! They're right out side!" Mediha cheers along with the others. The backdrop sways as one of the apprentice peer out to see what's going
on. "Now!" Belan whispers as he pulls the henchman to the side. In the lair, Telinda sniggers, "I shouldn't think there's anything to
hide, and my friends will find me and then, then you'll find out what life
is all about!" Turning to the warning just in time to realize he's been caught, E'dar commences
'struggling', pouting profusely at the Hero. "But... hey! That's my job!
See, I was supposed to grab her and tie her up, then I could go home to my
Stables, see." He bobs his head at Belan, eyes expectant. He understands
that capturing him is not his job, right? Of course. So he'll let him go now." Shadara watches quietly, hand rubbling her tummy as she watches the Play/fashion
show, "Poor E'dar... I wonder if they'l let him keep that outfit?"
she mutters to Ana as she keeps watching. Lily dashes forward, seeing Belan's movement. She quickly takes one of the
ropes to tie around the henchman's wrist. She tightens them just a touch too
tightly maybe, and she immediately tries to tug them looser. With a muttered
curse, she reaches around to attempt to stuff a rag in the henchman's mouth. E'niel blanches at the Villian's last statement, nudging D'fit, "Welp,
least help has arrived, otherwise we'd have to escort the children out.. "
Nose crinkled, he grins and turns back to watch the result. Declyn spots the swaying backdrop with a practiced eye and stalks off again
with a muffled sigh. The backdrop jitters up and down, back and forth. Amazingly
no sound comes out from behind it and the peeking apprentice's face disappears
in a right hurry. "I hope so" Ana murmers. "It'd be nice to see him like that
after this" And yes...she realizes she's saying that to E'dar's weyrmate...but
hey! A girl can /look/ after all. Anja starts replying to Telinda, but heres the 'struggle' from outside. She
frowns, "If that clumsey oaf fell off the rocks again onto his head,
I'll kill him myself..." She gives TElinda a kiss on the forehead and
grins, "I'll be right back my pretty..." and moves slowly away from
the damsel. The Harper's tune swells in anticipation of Belan and Lily's pounce, rising
to a splendid crescendo that still manages to remain below the actor's voices. Belan grins as he hands the henchman over to Lily. "Mmphlmph mphlmh lmhplhmhlmphmhplml!" The Heachman exclaims around
the rag, wriggling. Life is so unfair. Nareisa murmurs to nobody in particular "it's funny, isn't it?"
She doesn't appear to expect an answer. Onshana eyes the people and adds her two cents. "I agree.. That outfit
really brings out his best features.." She spares nearby ears a rundown
of those.. Belan gets his belt knife out and steels himself, ready to enter the lair. Anja 'exits' the lair and spots the heros and her tied up henchman, "My
evil plans, spoiled again..." She eyes the henchman, "All your fault,
admit it." E'dar would probably admit it, if he weren't busy spitting out the rag to
ask, "Does this mean I can't go back to my Stables?" E'niel chuckles heartily, shaking his head, hands slapping at his thighs
as he rocks with mirth. Lily grins, dragging E'dar off to the side. "Go get the girl!,"
she says with a laugh. Then, she stuffs the rag back in E'dar's mouth. "That's
not for me to decide, evil one!" She's laying it on thick with the 'defender
of good' tone. Telinda is meanwhile muttering under her breath, thankfully none of the words
are that audible, except for the odd, "dastardly" and "evil". Anja hrmphs at E'dar, glaring at him, "Thought as much..." She
eyes the hero, her knife sliding silently from its sheath. Belan puts his knife up in a guard position, "Aha! I have you now, Dastardly
Villian!" He advances on Anja. Collective "Ooh!"s ring out from the audience. Anja laughs, "No, I have you you you you Hero..." she spits the
word out in contempt. She pounces forward, her knife sweeping through air
for Belan's midsection. Now it's Declyn's turn to stick his head out from behind the backdrop. Not
a chance he's missing the climactic duel but he's also not very trusting of
his apprentices. E'dar settles into a dejected pout, settling his elbows on his knees, and
chin on his fists. Aislinn gasps, an involuntary sound, as Anja attacks her intended. Belan sucks in his gut and steps to the side, his cold steel racing for the
Villian's exposed side! "Close, but not close enough, wicked one!"
he mutters. Shadara hrmphs at Shana's look, "Keep your proddy hands off him."
she mutters under her breath as she taps her fingers on her belly, rubbing
occasionally as she watches her mate and the play, though she does blow a
kiss to him along with a wink D'fit nods appreciatively at the action, a sideways glance at Aislinn illiciting
a quick chuckle. He leans over towards E'niel to remark on something. Nareisa stands on her tiptoes to try and get a better view, trying to peer
between some people who are a lot taller than her, which is not surprising. E'niel leans forward in his chair, brows perked as he watches the fight.
"Might learn some moves," he mutters, his smirk still intact. Anja catches Belan's knife on hers, deflecting it downwards. She steps in
close to Belan and rams her knee up, "How do you like that hero ?" Glad he's not playing the part of the Hero, E'dar spares a wink for his Weyrmate,
sly-like. Belan doubles over ands steps back, giving Anja a shove with his left hand!
"Ouch!" Onshana gives Shadara an innocent look. "Why on Pern would I???" Anja grins evilly and darts foward. Her knife flashes before her, darting
towards one shoulder in a feint, before snaking to the right. She oversteps
herself as she misses and goes sliding past Belan. A general groan of sympathetic pain comes from several of the men in the
audience at the Villain's attack on the Hero. Shadara gives a faint growl at Onshana, "Cause he's my Weyrmate and
you're not invited to our Weyr, that's why." E'niel laughs outright at a whisper from D'fit, his humor bright on his features. Belan drops, extending one foot out, to trip the Villian as 'he' passes. Lily raises a hand to Kinoa. Pointing to E'dar, she hisses, "We're watching
the henchman." Anja trips and falls, landing hard on the ground and rolling over onto her
back. Ana mutters to Onshana "Of course...Calinth might chase Shereth..."
Her little sentence just might be overheard by Shar. Onshana looks rather confused.. "I know he's your Weyrmate.." Kinoa nods at Lily, fixing her eyes on E'dar intently. Just let him try anything. Belan grins and turns to leap upon the stretched out villian! "I have
you now!" He crows as he flies towards her. Nareisa doesn't try to keep up with the conversation, she just watches, scooting
in front of a rider or two. She still can't see, but still, she's not seeing
closer. E'dar is caught quietly cheering on the Hero by those looking. Oops. Anja watches a rather large shape hurtling towards her and sticks up her
feet, helping propel Belan up and over her. She quickly scrambles to her feet
and crouches, knifee before her. Declyn's eyes keep closing shut tightly every time it looks like a knife
blade might make contact with any of his precious cloth. Onshana comments back to Ana.. "So could Fenth." SHe totally misses
the whole reason for Ana's comment. Belan 'Oofs' and tucks into a roll... and falls off the stage, surely not
part of the script. E'niel considers, no longer watching the fight, "Hey.. You know, that
outfit the Henchman is wearing is really nice, though I think I'd want a bit
more *room* in my trousers.. " Turning to see D'fit's opinion, he realizes
the man is not listening to him, but rather watching the show and frowns..
Oh yea, the show. Once again he turns to watch. Ana smiles "Oh...I'm sure he'll try" she says in a low tone. "He
likes Shereth..." Anja runs to the edge of the stage and looks down, looking as if she's ready
to help him back onto it. Shadara looks at Ana, "I don't mind what happens during a flight, but
till then, E'dar's my mate and I'll take execption to a proddy rider trying
to put his or her hands on him. Whether they be a green rider, or a blue."
she says, eyes glinting a bit with temper as she crosses her arms over her
chest. Can we say mood swings here, which is worse, proddy greenrider, or
pregnant greenrider?" Lily idly glances over to those in the audience. She frowns, spotting a certain
proddy rider next to another certain bluerider. Hrmph. Then, she pointedly
goes back to watching E'dar. At least she can't hear what they're saying... Shadara giggles/ Ana's eyes widen at Shar's sharp words. "You don't have to tell me that,
Shar...I understand..." Belan hops up from the ground, a confused look on his face then he turns
to grab the villians arm and pull. Anja eeeeks as she is pulled off the stage and lands face first in the sand.
She quickly regains her feet and motions as if throwing sand into Belan's
face. Kinoa is having too much fun watching all of the acrobatics to pay attention
to the fight brewing between her Weyr's riders. Mediha watches the out-of-hand 'fight' with considerable interest. When will
it end.. The Harpers song crescendoes a final time, rising up for the crushing blow
of the villain (they hope, perhaps, though most of the ensebmel is wracked
with laughter now, and even Lashana seems to have trouble finding the notes
on her flurte) and drifting into a more somber closing tone. Nareisa finally gives up on being able to see the action, and she flops down
in a quieter spot. Belan covers his eyes then rushes in to tackle the villian. Onshana gives Shadara a hurt look. "But he's the one that flirted with
me.. Besides.." She looks pointedly at the bulging belly.. "Look
like certain activities might be lacking when you two are alone..." She
then pointedly turns her attention back to the play.. So there.. Anja gets knocked down, knife flying from her hand, Belan's knife looking
as if its in her chest. She lays still. Telinda looks around the lair, and decides since there's noone to stop her
to try the damsel act once more, "Help?" she tries, first very quiet,
then louder and louder still "HELP!" Breathing hard, Belan demands, "Yield!" Anja eyes Belan, "I'm dead... go safe the damsel..." she murmurs
under her breath. The wee one escapes her father's grip and runs over to jump on Anja, "Leave
the damsel alone !" Belan sheathes his blade and leaps onto the stage, rushing in to untie Telinda.
"I won't be but a moment, Ma'am." T'dru strikes up the Damsel's, notes flying from his gitar in triumphant
accord while the drummer apprentice taps out the Hero's rhythm on the small
drum before him. Telinda is mid-scream "He--" and gets cut off by the Hero's call,
"Well, hurry up then, my hands are going numb!" she calls back. The ropes drop off onto the floor and Belan helps her rise. "Yes Ma'am." Shadara narrows her eyes and a growls before her hand flies up and cracks
full force against Onshana's left cheek, full force. "You'll keep your
tongue off what me and my weyrmate do in our weyr, or it'll be more than just
a slap you'll be getting." she says in a tone that's clearly a bit above
a normal tone, "You're to return to the Weyr, now, since you're green
is apparently too proddy for you to be in polite company. Consider yourself
grounded to the Weyr until such time as Shereth rises." Anja lets out a loud oofff, as the 4-5 turn old jumps on her. She grins,
"Its only fake you know..." and sits up to watch the hero and damsel. "Shadara!" Ana gasps, holding onto Onshana's arm "What is
wrong?" The timid girl standing up to her Asst. Weyrlingmaster? But Shana
must be stood up for, after all. Lashana's flute notes, filled with the triumph of victory and managing to
twine boht hereo's and damsel's themes together to one whole. Telinda simpers sweetly at Belan, "You're -so- sweet!" she remarks,
and then looks around, "Fancy doing me a huge, big, favour, and rescueing
me from this awful place too?!" Lily suddenly finds her attention fully on her fellow riders instead of the
show. Her eyes go wide and she looks as if she's ready to charge of in the
direction if needed. The background comes rather close to falling, as the apprentices let out
a cheer. T'dru's brows draw down as the eyes skimming the audience catch his clutchmate
slapping another rider. Biting his lip, he looks away, concentrating on the
final triumphant music, slowly fading it away into silence. E'dar's eyes widen as he happens to glance his weyrmate's way, and notes
her actions. Gulp. He's going to be in trouble isn't he? Maybe he'll keep
this gag... Nareisa cheers along with the rest. Lily turns back to clap idly for the hero. E'niel leaps to his feet and applauds the players, beaming brillantly as
his hands come together in enthusiastic force, "Wonderful! Great job!"
Sunshine plays on his flushed cheeks as his wide grin forces them upwards.
He cannot help himself but to shift a quick glance to the brawling greenriders,
but quickly shifts his gaze back to the people on the stage. "Wonderful!"
he calls, just to emphasize his pleasure in the show. Kinoa turns her head just in time to catch the slap, and her shocked gasp
of, "Shadara!" can be heard over the murmurings of the crowd. Her
attention is distracted briefly as the show draws to a close, but she looks
angry and perhaps embarrassed. Aislinn stands to applaud for her hero...the hero of the show too. She is
momentarily oblivious to the little drama going on next to her...her attention
on Belan. Belan grins, "Certainly!" He stoops and picks up Telinda in his
arms, her arms around his neck asa he strides out of the lair and off the
stage to the tent. Onshana just stares at Shadara. wides wide. What did she do? Her cheek turning
a nasty red, though not as red as her cheeks. Tears of humility rise to her
eyes, and her jaw clenches. However, instead of doing something back she turns
on her heels and stomps away, shoveing her way through people. Anja manages to escape the little girl and slips into the changing room as
well. Anja, Belan and Telinda go into the changing room. Tiarnath> Shereth senses that Tiarnath croons softly << My rider
says to stay, get your rider to stay as well. >> Outside the changing room, Declyn makes another timed gesture just as Belan
lifts Telinda into his arms and the lair trots off into the sunset. Declyn
steps up to take center stage, calling for the actors to join him in a rather
loud voice. He manages to totally ignore anything else that might be going
on in the audience. Outside the changing room, Lily sighs and gets to her feet, pushing E'dar
towards the changing room Telinda rolls her eyes, and snorts, "Did you see that lot..no, I refuse
to think about it" she says, and then looks around everyone, "You
did wonderfully! All of you!" Belan sets Telinda down Carefully. "Sorry to manhandle you so." Anja grins at Telinda, "You tooo !" and looks at Belan, "didn't
hurt ya ? did I ?" Telinda giggles at Belan, "Oh, you didn't, you were a lot smoother than
E'dar!" Outside the changing room, Lily rerouts instead, quickly untying E'dar and
moving onto the stage. Anja hears the call, "Declyn wants us now.." and moves back out. Asenah leaves the changing room. Outside the changing room, Nareisa just keeps well back, looking surprised
at the developments. Telinda nods and follows the others. Telinda, Anja, Belan and Sharia leave the changing room. Lashana shoots a glance towards the audience and the drama playing out there,
but she can no more comment on that as anything else, save to frown ever so
slightly before she rises, flute lowering once more while she waits for the
rest of the actors to emerge to the stage. E'dar blinks out of his trance at Lily's shoving, and hisses, "But we've
gotta bow." He turns a smile to the crowd, shifting uncertainly. Telinda exits behind some of the others, taking her place back on the stage. Anja moves back onto the stage, looking alot more friendly than before. Belan steps onto the stage, grinning and looking for Aislinn in the crowd. Mediha stands on her chair for the Villian, ignoring the wierd looks from
others. "Yah! Woo!" Lily shuffles to the back of the stage, still trying to peer at the riders
in the crowd. Shadara looks at Ana, "Let go of her arm Ana, or you can return to the
Weyr with her. Onshana apparently is too proddy to mind her manners, so she's
going home." her hands clench after the slap as she turns to face the
stage again, eyes bright, but whether it's with anger or hurt is unknown,
and her skin is a very pale white. Aislinn raises an arm, waving at Belan...hoping he can see her through the
crowd. Anja grins down at her fostersister, giving a wave to Mediha. Dragon> Shereth bespoke Tiarnath with << :rumbles abit on edge..
<<She doesn't want to stay.. But she says she will..>> >> Fair to gliding, Asenah sweeps out of the changing area, actually... Yes,
she's... beaming! Her face is bright with a wide smile. Now /that/ is a rare
sight. E'niel's applause picks up again as the actors return to the stage, though
otherwise he remains silent as his lips mark a firm line across his face.
Brief glances toward the Southern greenriders only tighten the line further. Tiarnath> I bespoke Shereth with << She says she understands, but
that to remind her that her place is here as much as Saith's rider. More so
in fact, since it was Saith's rider that was out of place. >> R'zar claps his hands to applaud the actors aas they return to the stge. Belan waves to Ais and makes as if to join the crowd. Tiarnath> Saith senses that Tiarnath rumbles dangerously << Tell
your rider to be quiet. Now! My rider asks that it be so! >> Lashana moves a few steps out from the Harper's area to the main stage to
join the actor's, smiling out at the assembled crowd. Ana jumps up "I'll follow her, gladly" Ana says coldly. "Too
proddy, though Shar? I saw /you/ when you were proddy...even worse in my opinion.
You're just mad cause she was looking at E'dar." Can this really be Ana
talking this way. Her pale eyes are fairly blazing with anger. "You've
no right to slap her when no-one slapped you when you were proddy" That
said, she stomps off after Onshana. Lyndrael has joined those participating in a standing ovation, on her feet
and clapping enthusiastically. Onshana throws her arms around Shereth's neck, but doesn't get on the dragon's
back. The glowy green croons softly to the girl. Declyn claps once to get everyone's attention, proddy riders and all. "The
WeaverHall and, I believe Cove's Ladyholder extend their appreciation to all
of you for attending and being a part of our experimental show." He smiles
a little. "I believe it was well worth our efforts. We couldn't have
done it without our volunteers." He makes a sweeping gesture to actors
and harpers and those who doubled as both and waits for the applause to die
down. "If I can ask you all to stand as witnesses for just one moment
more, I won't detain you any further from enjoying the gather." He quirks
a finger at Sharia. Kinoa slowly moves through the crowd to the knot of riders, looking none
too pleased with any of them. "Shadara, I need to speak to you and Onshana
both," she says quietly so as not to disrupt the rest of the Weaver's
well-organized show. Sharia comes back onto the stage and gives a touch of a smile to the audience.
Her brows shoot up into her hairline as Declyn calls for her, but she steps
forward quickly. "Sir?" Belan stops and retreats back to his place, a red flush on his face. Shadara looks at Ana and her eyes narrowe, "You can discuss it after
we all get back tot he Weyr, unless you care to do more to disrupt this Gather." Nerian blinks. "A proddy green is here? Why isn't she back in the Weyr
if she's proddy?" Anja gives a bow and slips off the stage, finding herself a glass of wine. Tiarnath> Saith senses that Tiarnath's rumble is even lower, the tone
that accepts no gainsay << Tell you rider to be quiet -now-! >> Shadara just looks at Kinoa, jaw clenching. E'niel grows silent as he waits for the announcement, greenriders forgotten. Tiarnath> I bespoke Luiseth with << I have passed along an order
from my rider to Saith's rider to be quiet for the moment. >> Ana tosses back over her shoulder, as she makes her way toward Onshana and
the dragons "You're the one interrupting things with your overemotional
attitude, Shar" Dragon> Saith bespoke Tiarnath with << Then I sugest you have the
others be silent now, or my rider will be forced into a response, either verbal
or otherwise. >> Declyn places a gentle hand on Sharia's shoulders, turning her to face the
crowd. A weaver journeyman comes up with a broad smile plastered across his
face, handing Declyn something. A brief glimpse of lavender and white shows
as Declyn takes it. "Sharia -" His hands quickly untie the Apprentice
knot around her shoulder and replace it with that of a Senior Apprentice.
"- against my better judgement -" His tone is fondly mocking, "I
believe you deserve a little more responsibility in the Hall. Just ahem, don't
throw your weight around too much." He smiles at her and quickly finishes
tying the new knot around her shoulder. Dragon> Luiseth bespoke Tiarnath with << Thank you. She will listen
to you. >> Tiarnath> I bespoke Saith with << They have been told. My rider
is not happy at all. >> Tiarnath> I bespoke Fenth with << My rider asks that you pass along
to yours to be calm for a little while, Saith's rider has been ordered to
keep quiet. >> Belan grins and starts clapping. "Good show, Sharia!" Shadara just looks over at Ana, eyes narrowing even more but she doesn't
say anything, to anyone before she turns and walks away. Mediha applauds the girl her new rank. Dragon> Fenth bespoke Tiarnath with << I am trying to calm her down,
but she is upset. I have asked her, and she well listen to me. She'd better.
I am sorry she is this way. >> Telinda applauds the new senior apprentice, "Nicely done!" she
calls out, before casting a look at the Southern riders, her eyes narrowing
and her chin setting. Sharia blinks several times, looking from her Craftmaster to the audience
and back as if she can't believe this is happening in front of everyone. "Um,
I'm honored, sir." For a change she sounds very appreciative instead
of mocking, too startled by her new rank to be sarcastic. Hurrying a bow, E'dar rushes off the stage and through the crowd, trying
to keep an eye on his fleeing 'mate. Tiarnath> I bespoke Fenth with << It is to be expected. Ask her
to talk to Shereth's rider. >> Kinoa sighs as everyone walks away in a huff, clapping for the new apprentice
so as not to let anything ruin her moment in the light. "Congratulations,"
she says over the crowd. E'niel emits a enthused shout, "Wooo!" then sets to clapping again,
grinning like the brainless canine he is. Dragon> Saith bespoke Tiarnath with << Well neither is my rider,
Onshana had no right to make comments on what she and her weyrmate do in the
privacy of their weyr. She shouldn't have been allowed out of the Weyr if
she's that proddy. >> Nerian applauds politely. T'dru manages to keep a neutral expression, quietly packing his instruments
away. He pauses to watch the knotting, pounding the now covered drum once
in approval of the WeaverMaster's decision then takes himself from the staging
area. Shadara walks along west to more beach. Asenah won't disagree with the assessment E'niel's made, it's likely. Nevertheless,
she does make her bows, give her quiet congratulations, then head his way. Lily manages a grin for the girl and a "Congratulations." Then,
she moves off after the generally huffy group of riders. Dragon> Fenth bespoke Tiarnath with << She will...she does not like
being this upset and she does not understand. >> Tiarnath> I bespoke Saith with << We will talk of this later. Not
now. >> Onshana is just standing there murmering to her glowing green, That slap
mark a blaze. She absently scritches the eyeridge. Declyn bends down and offers quietly, He mutters to Sharia, "Don't...
it... You'll... rest... the..." Lashana cheers quietly for the apprentice's promotion, nodding iwth approval
before she walks off the stage herself, though not far, for the apprentice
and her master seem to be the haroer's destination. Ana moves quietly next to Shana, and Fenth's croons are a low murmer. Ana,
much more calm, speaks softly to the greenrider. Declyn quits muttering to his new Senior and nods an acknowledgement of the
audience and actors. "My sincere thanks and the thanks of the WeaverHall.
For their efforts on our behalf, if everyone so chooses, they may keep the
apparel they're wearing now." Sharia blushes at all the congratulations given her, most by complete strangers.
She nods soberly at the Craftmaster's murmuring, though a distinct smile tugs
at the corners of her lips. Declyn grunts once as he gets poked in the ribs by the Weaver Journeyman
next to him. "Free of charge of course." That sets him to frowning
and he simply walks off, heading straight for the WeaverTent. Declyn strolls into the Weaver Tent. Telinda grins over at Declyn, and smiles her thanks, echoing it with a "Thank
you" voiced slightly over some of the crowd noise as she makes her way
off the stage and into the crowd. E'niel considers Declyn for a moment, then moves his way, glancing back briefly
to murmur to R'zar and D'fit, "'Wanna see about some clothes.. "
As the Weaver disappears inside, he pauses, stunned and suddenly unsure which
way to go. Belan grins and nodding his head, claps harder. "Thanks, Master Declyn!"
He stops and steps off the stage, searching the crowd again. Sharia scurries after her Craftmaster, or scurries as best she can in the
heavy and ornate skirts she's wearing, anyway. Telinda wanders right over to Onshana and Ana, lifting her hand to gently
take Onshana's in hers to look at the mark on her cheek. "Shana?"
she says quietly, bending a little to look into the greenrider's eyes. "How
you doing?" Sharia strolls into the Weaver Tent. Asenah draws up beside E'niel, her hand at his elbow. She mutters to E'niel. Lashana calls out a thank you to the departing Declyn's back, her own voice
sharp and clear, used to carrying over the murmour of instruments and apprentices
alike, as she tries to stop Sharia's scurrying unsuccesfully. Ana steps back, her eyes widening as the Weyrwoman approaches. Kinoa has made her way over to Luiseth by this time, close enough to observe
the conversation, although she's going to let the Weyrwoman handle it. She
still looks upset and vaguely embarrassed. Lily walks closer to the group of riders, though she stays to one side as
she sees Telinda come over. Mediha wanders to the baker's booth to browse the goodies. E'niel blinks in surprise as looks down at Asenah, "Oh.. Well, is he
busy?" Like she would know, "I really don't want to bother him.
Maybe I'll just go find the weaver tent.. " Then finally, smiling faintly,
he says, "You did a great job. You play a Lady Holder well... " Nerian remains where she was, murmuring to the person next to her something
to the effect of not wanting to get in the way. Onshana looks up still fighting her emothins. She wears that emotional battle
on her face. "A bit embarresed...Did I say something wrong???" She
doesn't relizes the hurt she causes Shadara. T'dru drifts over to Master Lashana, "Will you be needing a ride back
out to Island River or are you staying at the Harper Hall overnight?" "No harm in finding out whether he is or not, I really don't know,"
Asenah answers quietly. She's halted from further comment by his following
words, her eyes lowering, and a flush touching her cheeks. "Thank you,"
she murmurs quietly, glancing down at the outfit, "Lovely isn't it? A
shame I don't do it near the justice it needs..." As she speaks, she
leads him back towards the stage. Telinda smiles a little, "Well, yes, I guess this whole weyrmating business
is a little too new for Shadara right now." She pauses, tucking her hair
behind her ear, "Now, if I were you, I'd go back home, take a hot bath,
and stay there. Something very interesting is going to happen to you very
soon, and I want you to be at the weyr, surrounded by friends when it does.
In the meantime, I'll talk to Shadara. Alright, Shana?" she asks, flickering
a look over her shoulder at the other Southern riders. E'niel begrudingly follows, muttering all the while, "I really don't
want to bother him.. He's probably busy basking in the aftermath." His
long strides are checked to meet Asenah's smaller ones. Ana has backed up even further, to stand next to Lily. She nods slowly and
silently to Telinda's words, glancing sideways at Lil. Lashana finally seems to make up her mind and begins to stride towards the
wever's tent, halted in her own progress by T'dru's approach. "Ahh, a
ride. Oh, yes. If its not too much trouble? And if you're not planning on
leaving just yet, I'd really like to get that apprentice there to craft up
some more, ahh," She gives a little tug at her neckline, "practical
suits." D'fit sits on the sand where he was watching, eyebrows furrow together and
expression considering. A grin plays at the corners of his mouth, and he scans
the remains of the play careful. "Don't be silly," Asenah answers, with a slight grin, "I'm
sure he'll be eager to sell something, after all the things he's given away."
She leads E'niel through the curtain into the changing room. Asenah goes into the changing room. Onshana frowns a bit confused.. "Okay..." She gives a bit of a
sigh and puts a hand to her head. "I feel like I could use a bit of a
lay down." She half murrurs. Mediha strolls over to Sandy-Coral beach. Telinda nods to Onshana, "Well, better get to it then, I don't want
you *betweening* when you aren't feeling well. Can someone accompany her back
please?" Lily gives Onshana a worried look, then tugs lightly at her collar. She flickers
a smile to Ana. "I can go with her, Telinda," she offers. Belan sees Asilinn in the crowd and makes his way to her. T'dru eyes Lashana's neckline tugging and nods. "There's nothing wrong
with what you have on, but Duir and I can pass the time a while and wait.
He's enjoying the beach here." Ana speaks up "I can, Weyrwoman". Not mentioning that /she/ needs
a rest too. E'niel goes into the changing room. Aislinn smiles, reaching her hand out for Belan. "You were wonderful!"
she compliments. Telinda nods to Lily and Ana, "Great, I'll see you both back at the
Weyr, but right now I need to find E'dar. Kinoa, would you be so kind to help
me please?" she says, turning and looking for the other rider. Kinoa leans against Luiseth, watching the people passing by in their costumes.
Which reminds her that she's still wearing hers. Done fuming for the moment,
she gives Telinda a nod and even a smile. "Of course," she replies. E'dar walks along west to more beach. Lashana raises an eyebrow and chuckles, "Nothign wrong with it for a
Gather maybe, but hardly practical for teh workshop. But Faranth knows I've
been told enough times to get soemthing more presentable for a Master. Might
as well be now," she stops witha shake of her head and a grin, "I'll
be only a moment." Ana moves over to Shana "Need help to mount?" she asks the greenrider,
all concern now. Lashana strolls into the Weaver Tent. Belan takes her hand, and shakes his head. "They were wonderful. I was
just there. Do you want to stay and look around some more?" E'niel comes out of the changing room. T'dru turn and walks off to stow his gear away on Duirath, knowing full well
Lashana will be way more than a minute. Tiarnath> I bespoke Calinth with << My rider asks that you rejoin
us for a moment, and then go and chat to your weyrmate. >> Onshana gives Lily and Ana a weak smile, though she winces when she does.
She places a hand on her cheek and her eyes unfocus for a moment...Until Ana
speaks to her.. "Huh? Oh... No I can do it..Thank You though." She
murmurs and moves to mount Shereth. Lily watches Shana, then moves over to Tybeth. "I'll fly in front,"
she offers. Ana glances at Lily, smiling at the other greenrider "Let's get her
home, Lil" she says softly. "I'll fly beside her...you'll be alright,
Shana" she assures. Nareisa slips out at some point. D'fit stands up, brushing sand off his pants and then rubbing his hands against
eachother as the grains stick to his palms. Aislinn shakes her head very firmly. "You were wonderful." She
shrugs "I am a little tired, Bel...but we can stay if you'd like"
she says, trying to hide her weary tone. Onshana climbs up onto Shereth's back, with some help from her fore arm. Asenah comes out of the changing room. Her hand still at his elbow, Asenah leads E'niel through the crowd towards
the Weaver Tent. Shereth watches her rider get up before turning back to the males. Onshana
settles herself in the riding straps. Lily climbs up onto Tybeth's back. Ana springs up on Fenth's back, with the blue's assistance and convenient
riding straps. Asenah mutters to E'niel, "... there... last time... spoke.... 6..." Tybeth takes off from the beach, soaring into the sky. Telinda shrugs, "Well, I guess he doesn't want to listen to his dragon
either, Kinoa, really, I have no idea what gets Shadara so angry at times."
She sighs, and sweeps a hand through her hair, "I think I need a drink!"
she comments. Belan shakes his head. "Lets go home, love. I'm beat." From atop Fenth, Ana waves, though distractedly, at Aislinn before giving
the signal to rise. Fenth takes off from the beach, soaring into the sky. Shereth takes off from the beach, soaring into the sky. E'dar scrambles down to the sand from the rocky beach to the west. Aislinn waves at Ana and Fenth "Alright...I'm glad you suggested that"
she says, grinning. Kinoa grins, finally, and shakes her head a bit. "Nor do I," she
says, looking around the square thoughtfully. "Whatever possessed her
to do such a thing, especially here, in the middle of all of these people."
She sighs. "A drink sounds wonderful." Telinda ooohs, "Then again!" She beckons the brownrider over, "E'dar,
here a moment" she calls over. E'dar's eyes search the crowd impatiently, and when he hears Telinda's beckoning,
he rushes that way. "What did you need?" he asks, anxiously, glancing
back towards the other part of the beach. From Sky Above Cove Hold, Fenth disappears into Between. E'niel glances down at Asenah as she talks, but doesn't respond. Rather the
Weyrsecond points through the crowd, "Is that the Weaver tent?"
As they pass various recognizable faces, he grins and nods a greeting, winking
playfully to some, though not in a lude manner. From Sky Above Cove Hold, Shereth disappears into Between. D'fit glances around quickly, and then slips down the path toward the courtyard. From Sky Above Cove Hold, Tybeth disappears into Between. D'fit walks up the path toward the hold. Telinda frowns a little, then clears it with a smile, "Well, I want
you to talk to Shadara. I have no idea why she's acting so jealous around
Onshana, the only thing I can think of is you haven't convinced her enough
yet, so get and do it, and make my life easier, because right now I don't
have the time to deal with anything else. It's either that or those hormones.
You have my permission to stay here for a day or two, there's no fall expected,
and then I will see you both back at Southern, in more reasonable tempers."
She pauses, then adds, "Please?!" "There it is," Asenah nods, heading off that way. Asenah strolls into the Weaver Tent. "You..." E'dar asks, wanting to be sure he's absolutely clear,
"... want me to stay here, at Cove? And prove to my weyrmate how much
I love her?" It's quite obvious how he thinks he's expected to do this,
and a blush rises to his cheeks. E'niel hears Telinda's pleading and pauses, glancing back her way before
moving into the tent, his lips marked with a strange sort of grin. E'niel strolls into the Weaver Tent. Nerian eventually reaches Tinneth's neck. Tinneth warbles happily once his rider is safely on his neck. Telinda nods, "I think that's what I said yes! So do it, make my life
easier and don't complain about it!" She gives E'dar a shooing gesture,
"Go on with you, before she throws another fit and you get the receiving
end this time!" Tinneth takes off from the beach, soaring into the sky. From Sky Above Cove Hold, Tinneth disappears into Between. Belan enfolds Aislinn in his arms and gives her a hug. "Let's go." Aislinn walks up the path toward the hold. Kinoa adds, "It's the least you can do," to E'dar. Belan walks up the path toward the hold. "Yes, uh... ma'am," E'dar blinks, glancing to Kinoa once before
he hurries off. Christine wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Kinoa rolls her eyes after the departing brownrider. "I hate being called
that," she murmurs to no one in particular. E'dar walks along west to more beach. T'dru finally finishes securing all of his instruments properly and seats
himself in the sand near Duirath, who gazes at his rider sleepily. Telinda wrinkles her nose at Kinoa, "Believe you me, neither do I!"
She picks up her skirts and drifts over to Duirath and T'dru, "Hello
stranger, haven't had much of a chance to see you since you got back"
she remarks, hand going up to offer a scritch to the bronze. Kinoa makes her way to the changing booth, where she puts on something more...normal,
and then to the vintner's booth, where she gets a glass of good strong red
wine. Sipping happily, she watches Telinda talking to the bronzerider, a faint
smile on her face. "Glad you're back, T'dru," she murmurs. R'zar stands, "Well, I must be back to the Weyr." T'dru looks up from his deep thought, a half-hummed melody stopping in midnote.
He scrambles to his feet, brushing sand from his new clothes that he really
ought to take better care of and nods. "I'm glad to be back but I've
been kind of busy. The roof on my cottage and all you know." He shrugs
some as Duirath lowers an eyeridge towards Telinda. Joslyn slips deftly down to the bent foreleg of Jeuneth, the Queen lowering
herself to a crouch and watching with gentle eyes as the girl hops to the
ground. R'zar waves, smiling and says "Glad to have had the chance to visit
th Gather, though." to no one in particular. R'zar climbs up and settles himself comfortable on Mallarth's neck. His loving
pat is greeted with a quiet rumbling from Mallarth. Mallarth croons to R'zar as he settles himself on his neck. Mallarth takes off from the beach, soaring into the sky. From Sky Above Cove Hold, Mallarth disappears into Between. T'dru watches Mallarth and R'zar rise upwards, barely getting a chance to
offer a hand in farewell before the pair are gone. Joslyn gets a ride down from the Hold, thankfully, though the Queen pauses
well away from the crowd. She lowers her rider neatly and then turns off to
yawn and stretch out in the sand, leaving Joslyn to make her own, clumsy way
down the beach. Telinda happily turns her attention to scritch Duirath, smiling upwards at
the large bronze, before nodding to T'dru, "Roofs are so precarious at
Southern, it's a wonder we don't loose more than we do. We're glad to have
you back though, certainly not the same without you around." Kinoa leans back against a conveniently placed tent pole, turning her head
to watch Joslyn shuffle up the path. "Hi, Josy," she calls out with
a smile, determined to relax for at least this part of the gather. T'dru smiles the barest amount as Duirath begins a happy bass hum. "Quieter
I imagine without me and Duirath around, though he's learned to not bugle
-quite- so loud these days." Joslyn pauses, surveying the distance between herself and that greenrider.
"Hullo, Kinoa!" she calls, lifting her cane and waving it thataway.
Then, after a quick glance around the beach, she heads toward Kinoa and the
tent pole, kicking up a mess of sand as she goes. Telinda giggles, "Every weyr must have one Duirath" she absently
remarks, and then lifts her other hand to wave at Joslyn. "But other
than that, are you settling in alright? Coming back to find Eliora ill must
not be too pleasant" she adds. Duirath croons a little plaintively at Telinda's words evidently echoing
his rider's sentiments. T'dru shakes his head, "Not exactly the best
of news, no ma'em." Kinoa grins, sipping anew at her wine. Ahh, tasty. She'll wait until Joslyn
gets within conversation distance before saying anything further. Telinda shakes her head, correcting the younger bronzerider, "Telinda,
please, remember we're more relaxed here in the South." She sighs, "The
healer says she is getting better though, but still, Maristh hasn't risen
for over two turns, it begins to worry me more and more." Kinoa hmms thoughtfully. "I didn't realize it had been that long,"
she says aloud, almost visibly counting in her head. "I suppose Jeuneth
and the rest were the last clutch she laid, then." The corner of T'dru's bottom lip disappears as he chews on it thoughtfully.
"I suppose we can only hope ma'...Uhmm, Telinda." He looks a bit
anxiously at Duirath. Joslyn tosses a wave back toward Telinda, and then pauses to blink at the
Weyrwoman's conversational companion. She picks up her pace and arrives near
Kinoa in pretty decent time, leaning on her cane heavily, though. She mutters
to Kinoa, "... T'dru... there." Telinda nods, "Hope, there's a good thought" she says with another
smile. Duirath nudges ever so gently at Telinda again and looks at her plaintively
as if asking if she's forgotten what she was doing with that nice eye-skritching. Kinoa turns slightly, nodding to Joslyn, a slight smile on her face. "Indeed
it is, see for yourself," she says, moving aside so that she can see
the bronzerider for herself. Telinda giggles, "Oh, I'm sorry, Duirath" she says, returning to
the scritching, "And apart from the roof, everything's going fine?"
she asks of T'dru, looking to him briefly after looking at Duirath, "You
really did grow into a fine bronze!" Luiseth gives an affirmative rumble to Telinda's last comment. Fine-looking
bronze. Joslyn leans around Kinoa and stares, not exactly discreetly but oh well,
at the bronzerider. Eventually, she nods and then straightens up, satisfied.
"How long has he been back?" And is she really /that/ out of the
loop? Sad. T'dru raises what might be a sort of shyish hand in greeting towards Joslyn
but keeps most of his attention on Telinda. Both dragon and rider puff a little
with pride and T'dru nods happily, "That he did. And he flies well. Pays
attention in a thread fight. Not like some others I've seen." Tan shakes
his head a little more solemnly at that. Tris wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Kinoa tilts her head to one side, thoughtfully. "A while, but not too
long," she says, giving oh so much detail. "After you hurt your
foot, I think," she offers helpfully. Telinda nods, "There's always going to be some of those, T'dru, better
to concentrate on your lifemate, and your wing." Telinda smiles and waves cheerfully to Tris, "Evening Lady holder!" T'dru nods once, dropping that not so happy conversation and bows briefly
to the Lady Holder. Joslyn tosses a quick wavewave back T'dru's way though she keeps a keen ear
Kinoa's way. "Oh, yeah? Well, I'll haveta go over there in a little while
and say hullo," she remarks, finding something entertaining about that.
She offers a quick smile-nod-wave routine Tris's way. D'fit wanders onto the beach from the Courtyard. Tris waves with the energy of relief. "Hello!" she calls back,
as she pads her way nearer to the clusters of people. Asenah strolls out of the Weaver Tent. Telinda grins, "Was there a tone of relief in there somewhere?"
she asks Tris. Asenah leaves the Weaver Tent in rather a rush, her eyes closing as she pushes
and stumbles her way through the crowd. Telinda frowns a little at Asenah's rush out of the tent, and asks, "Is
there something wrong?" D'fit jogs back over to the beach, an easy grin on his face as he rejoins
the mass of people. A grin that is quickly replaced with furrowed brows as
the Assistant Headwoman goes stumbling past him. He glaces over to the tent
with a slightly startled look, trying to guess what's going on. Christine tries to enter the bakers' booth, but is stopped by the journeyman
in charge. Christine enters into the Smiths' tent. Kinoa grins at Joslyn. "I'm sure he'd be glad to see you," she
says cryptically, or not, depending on if you know the history there. She
likewise smiles at the Lady Holder and blinkblinks at Asenah, all of this
happening rather too quickly for her to take stock of things. Asenah pauses in her escape from an obviously inpleasant situation, glancing
to the questioner. With a shake of her head, she answers, near a whisper,
"No... yes... " She sighs, and murmurs finally, "It's not important.
I just..." She trails off, with a look towards the tent. Joslyn's given up trying to keep up with entire crowds since she arrived
at this Hold. One or two people is enough to occupy her scatterbrain. "I'll
wait till Tel's all done with him. Must be a good story. You been here long?"
she adds, by the way. Lashana strolls out of the Weaver Tent. Telinda shakes her head, "There's obviously something bothering you,
Asenah, either you tell me and I can try and help, or you don't, and I just
forget about it. Up to you." "Maybe asking after graduation clothes right now isn't a good idea,"
D'fit comments, tone slightly questioning as he glances between Asenah and
the weaver tent. Kinoa shrugs her shoulders, nearly done with her wine at this point. "Most
of the day," she says. "Did you see the weavers' fashion show?"
she asks, running her fingertip idly along the rim of her glass. T'dru makes sure he's well back out of the way. Funny how Duirath seems to
need so much eyeridge skritching these days. Asenah's attention is distracted from the Weyrwoman briefly. She shakes her
head, with a shrug in D'fit's direction, answering him quietly, "There's
no reason why you shouldn't. After all, Sharia doesn't have much to do with
E'niel ignoring everyone except that Harper Master." So, the reason is
out. Tris opens her mouth to answer Telinda's comment, but promptly shuts it again
as Asenah emerges from the tent and she listens. Joslyn sighs heavily at that, shaking her head with utter remorse. "No.
I was watchin' some folks up there at that 'poker tournament." She eyes
the 'skin, and grins, "Me'n you should play sometime soon." Lashana emerges from the Weavers tent just as D'fit glances over, and she
offers him a bright smile, and even a half wave before she frowns, Asenah's
words reaching her ears. But it is not enough to keep her occupied for long,
and she merely calls out, "Shoudln't see why they wouldn't want all the
commissions they could get tongiht." Kinoa's eyes light up a bit. "Dragonpoker?" she says, clearly having
a few marks she'd like to lose to the goldrider. "I think I could do
that," she says, schooling her face into a more composed expression.
"I've got the wine, for starters." Telinda shakes her head, "I'm confused, really confused!" Joslyn obviously likes the greenrider's interest and leans against her cane
as she speaks. "They've gotta whole table set up, with a deck and everything,
and there's a tournament going on. Th'winner gets something or another."
She doesn't want the prize, of course, just the title. Idly, she looks over
at Telinda and Asenah and so forth. Kinoa rolls the stem of her glass between her fingers. "How many people
are in it?" she asks. It never hurts to know your competition. Asenah shrugs her shoulders and glances to the Weavertent, eyes moisture-rimmed.
"Should have stayed given up on him," she notes, with a bitter little
laugh at herself, "It's been at least six months since we last spoke." Tris hops a few times, evidentally venting nervous energy, but otherwise
generally paying attention to the words around her. Joslyn shrugs and gestures back toward the Hold, and the beach, too. "Dunno.
Anyone who wants t'be. Find me later. We should have a game." After Kinoa's
had a few more of those wineskins, of course. D'fit looks around, a vauge expression clouding his features, and comments
to no one in particular: "I think I'll go see about that commission..." D'fit strolls into the Weaver Tent. Lashana reaches up, tugs on one ear, and peers around the gather ground until
she spies her ride and his rider, striding that way without paying much more
attention to the goings on of the weyrfolk. Kinoa nods, wine already making her stupid. "Okay, sounds good,"
she says amicably. "I think I'll just visit the inside of the Hold for
a moment," she says, hurrying off that way. Kinoa walks up the path toward the hold. Joslyn grins after the greenrider, looking very... satisfied. She then starts
picking her way through the people on the beach again, happily greeting a
few folks on her way through. T'dru quits with his quietly contemplative communion with his dragon and
looks over towards the Weaver Tent. It takes his eyes a while to focus but
he finally spots Lashana in the crowd and quirks a silently inquiring brow
in her direction. In a quiet lapse, Tris vents enthusiastically. "I can't /believe/ the
holders from Roma and Uppsala found it necessary to discuss coordinating tithing
trains when the fashion show was on! You'd think tithing trains were their..."
she breaks off hastily and looks around sheepishly to see if any residents
or holds of those same holds are around and listening... Telinda bites her lower lip to try and avoid a giggle at Tris' comment, "They
didn't?" she says in a shocked tone Tris continues earnestly, "And fashion is at least as important as tithing
trains, really. If the train leaders aren't dressed, they'll never make it
through the prairies or forests without coming down with all sorts of diseases
and rashes." she asserts. Telinda nods, "Though somehow most of the fashion show clothes wouldn't
be appropriate for hashing through the jungle." Tris exclaims, "Well, I wouldn't know, would I, since I /missed/ it."
She reinforces with frustration. Telinda slowly turns around, since she's still wearing her -outfit- "Would
you go into a jungle in this kind of thing?" she asks the Lady Holder. T'dru catches part of Telinda and Tris's conversation and casts a look at
the gem crusted dress she's wearing. Tris calms down a bit with a self-conscious laugh, "Although there's
no reason not to look stylish when going cross-country... Hmm, I see what
you mean..." She considers, looking at the dress (anyone else around
here still dressed for that as opposed to normally?) Lashana finally nears the bronae and rider, and lifts one shoulder in a half
shrug, pausing to turn and regard the Lady Holder and the Weyrwoman with a
grin, and a little shake of her head. "Well. Commission is commisioned,
I think." she announces simply. Tris grins, "You'd certainly look good anywhere in that... including
going through the woodlands." she adds for consistency. "Still,
I had a point about them at least being dressed, didn't I?" Asenah is also dressed from the Show, and she turns to allow Tris a look,
"This is what I wore. I'm told it makes me look... 'stately'." There
is a frown on that last word. One can guess where she heard it. Telinda chuckles, "True" she notes to Tris and then sweeps by the
Lady Holder, "I need to get changed" she adds, entering the weavers
tent. Tris chews thoughtfully on her lip and answeres Asenah, "I think elegant
is probably a more accurate word. I don't know, I always think really really
heavy official gowns when I hear the word stately. What you're wearing is
too... refined? to be stately." Telinda wanders in, nods to the various people and immediately starts looking
at the leather goods. When yet *another* rider enters, Sharia's expression starts becoming exasperated.
She gives a quick nod to the Weyrwoman, remotely respectful, then turns back
to E'niel. E'niel looks at D'fit with wide eyes... he certainly /is/ asking for help.
Then Telinda steps in, a FE-MALE, which means she MUST have a sense of clothing,
so he calls out in a desperate tone, "Weyrwoman.. do you have a moment?
I'm ..." well, he leaves it at that. Telinda blinks, "Hrm? What?" she looks over her shoulder, "What's
the matter?" she asks E'niel pokes a finger at a bolt of cloth, then another at the Weaver, "She
wants me to pick colors, and fabric... and," he looks at Sharia and questions,
"What else?" Telinda blinks, wandering over, "For what?" she asks, sounding
puzzled as E'niel asks his question, "For yourself, for a lady friend,
for your mother? Whom?!" Sharia exhales forcefully as the Honshu Weyrsecond turns away to consult
Telinda, then question her again. "Colors, fabric, style, etcetera. Hard
to make anything without knowing what you're wanting." D'fit chuckles, offering in a pause between his friend's confused stuttering:
"Himself, for what I think is gather clothes" and then steps back,
deffering to Telinda as he begins looking at various swaths of cloth so he
can have an answer when that same question is asked. E'niel arches a brow at the rising tone in Telinda's voice. Suddenly unsure
of himself again, he frowns, but mostly at himself. Exasperated, the bronzerider
turns to D'fit, he's gotta understand. As the Weyrling speaks up for him,
he quickly adds, "And formal atire for Weyrling Graduations.. Something
fancy, and something just formal.." There, said. Telinda nods, her hand gesturing to the weaver, "Indeed, Sharia is correct.
Without those it's difficult to move forward, though occasionally, if the
weaver knows the person and or their colouring, they can sometimes help you
considerably." She grins to D'fit, "Ah, gather clothes. Well, lets
see. Nothing too heavy, because of the sun, nothing too light because of between.
So, maybe a linen, or a cotton, though Sharia's better than me at this I would
think." Glossy locks of blackened coal fall unfettered to the middle of his back.
Slight of build, muscled tight and small. Tall, towering over the majority,
but only by an inch or two. Lanky. Not one who looks as if used to manual
labor, but has dexterity to spare. A softness, not always found in men, casts
about his features, though not detracting from his manliness, but rather enhancing.
Hazel eyes, average nose. For one so quiet, he has a mouth that speaks volumes
in its presence. Wide mouthed, full lips, with pearly teeth that peek through
when he grins, which is often. Not completely comfortable with with himself
or his body, gawkiness exudes. Sharia actually look ssurprised when the weyrwoman says she's right in her
questions to E'niel. A bit more respect creeps into her face for the goldrider,
but only barely. "Possibly a tunic in sisal, with a vest or jacket in
wherhide or bovine hide," she muses. "For the fancy one, of course,"
she adds quickly. Telinda nods, "See, that sounds excellent. And lets see. Colour. Well,
with black hair, something rich in colour would work lovely!" E'niel just nods, and nods, lots of avid agreement to everything the women
say. A quick glance is shot to D'fit, wondering if the Weyrling is taking
notes for his own commision. "A dark red would look nice," Sharia comments quietly, almost to
herself. "As would a cream or ivory, to contrast with the hair and eyes."
Gee, is she talking this way about a rider's looks? D'fit is indeed listening attentively, though he's trying to pretend he actually
knows something on the subject, and lifts up a corner of green linen in a
manner that's supposed to be appraising. Nevermind that he already said something
to the contrary... Telinda nods, "Maybe both, the darker colour for more casual gatherings,
but most certainly the red, most definitely. Will make you look super stunning!
No woman will be able to resist you." She grins, "On second thoughts,
better make that a dull brown!" E'niel chuckles at Telinda, shaking his head, "No.. I think I need the
red, most definately. Redredred.. Lots of red." Humor coming back to
him, the rider steps toward a completely hideous fabric, /bright/ red, and
asks, "Like this?" D'fit lets out a muted chuckle as he scans over Sharia's book. Aha, so he
is paying attention! Telinda grins, "Well, that should help, I hope, umm, not the bright
red, E'niel, no, the dark red! Bright red will make us all run the other way!" Sharia winces visibly at the color of fabric E'niel chooses. "Nay, nothing
of that sort. More like this..." And she holds up the end of a deep burgundy
linen fabric. "With maybe this ivory for trim." Another bolt is
pulled closer. E'niel smirks, shoving aside the bolt of blaring fabric, "Ok.. Then
will you choose? Please?" Falling into a formal stance, the Weyrsecond
profers his hand toward Telinda, "If you do this for me, then I shall
bring you roses once a month for a turn... Weyrwoman." There is a paniced
moment as he considers the previous jealous scene from the other female Southernites. D'fit has utterly given up looking at fabric and whatnot, and leans against
a high-piled table, arms crossed in front as he attempts to control snickering. Sharia snorts delicately as she listens to the exchange between riders, but
at least she's reasonably more respectful to them than she normally would
be, having gotten caught up in the discussion of her craft. Telinda laughs, "Roses for a month for a turn? Well, how can I resist!"
She leans forward, fingers gently brushing over the cloth, "Feels wonderful,
Sharia, don't let him do you out of any marks for it." Turning to E'niel,
she grins, and adds, "The dark red is great, go easy on the piping, but
match is with this ivory here" she pulls the bolt closer, "I'm sure
Sharia can come up with something wonderful for the sleeves, maybe like those
ones that were full at the top, and narrowed at the wrist that some of the
actors had on." She ponders, then gestures to a deep ebony, "And
the trousers need to be in that I would think, to pair it off." E'niel nods continuously to all that Telinda says, grinning like that brainless
canine again. A momentairy flicker of the grin is turned on Sharia, and more
nodding is offered to the Weaver. Then the mention of pants... he quickly
interjects, "Please, not as tight as ... " he blinks, trying to
remember which character had the tight pants on, "Well.. not *tight*
period. Please." "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must see to some things for myself"
Telinda remarks, "We have a new laundress and she accidently washed some
things too hot!" she says, already heading over to another area of the
tent, "Ah, excuse me apprentice..." she says, gesturing to get someone's
attention, "how many marks for this?"
