Raven
walks quietly across the meadow. She smiles over Nerian's way and then nods
to the weyrwoman. "Telinda, ma'am. I've got to talk to you if you've the
time." she says, swallowing.
Aidan comes strolling onto the beach, a plate of food in one hand. "Hi,
everyone," he calls, munching happily. "Decided to eat out here,"
explains at the odd looks he receives. Telinda is sat in the sand, wiggling a finger at a gold firelizard, she turns
and quirks an eyebrow at Raven, "Not now I don't think, unless it's really
important!" Nerian bounces over and hugs Rose. Rose walks over, nodding to those she recognises. Raven shakes her head and tilts it a bit to look at the weyrwoman wiggling
a finger at a firelizard. She steps slowly back away from the crazy lady.
"No ma'am... not really." Nareisa slips in, quietly. Sucking her thumb too. Hm. Blazing White Egg jumps into the air before landing, rolling from its comfy
spot. Blazing White Egg shifts, its veils parting with a violent ripping sound
as the shell nearly tears under the hatchling's imperative to be freed of
its smothering confines. Chips of the egg slide to the ground to huddle around
the hatchling's feet like bundlings of silken-surfaced knife-sharp crumpled
cloths.
Like the ocean had flowed over her brilliant emerald hide this green is resplendent with the twinkling hues of sunlight touching the briny expanse of the sea. Sunbeams pierce the aquamarine of her wings -- the shafts diffusing into softer jade towards the trailing edges. Droplets of agate form across her ridges, trickling down to the tip of her tail.
Rose blinks at Nerian. "Dear...what was that for?"
Raven blinks at the hatchling that has just popped from it's egg and looks around, totally disoriented. She looks Aidan's way as if to say, "What do we do???
Aidan doesn't notice the eggs at all yet. He burrows a nice little niche in the sands and rests the plate on bended knees as he picks and pulls at the meat and greens on his plate--one might even notice greens piled conspicuously over a... bubblie, is it?
T'san walks over from the lakeside meadow.
Telinda looks around, "Anyone bring food? We're going to need it!" she comments quickly.
Sunlit Ocean Green Hatchling shakes her wings free of all that gooey egg mess and cants her head curiously. Umm, what now?!
Rose looks at the eggs and sighs. "There I as thinking I had time for a quite little stroll."
Nareisa opens her mouth, yes, thumb and all to say something. Apparently the something is to Rose, however, her eyes are of course drawn to the moving eggs and the green there in particular. "Er... isn't she pretty? Food." Of course food "Er... I could go get some?" she offers, looking around.
Aidan looks over at Tel's cry and pauses. Then he pulls the greens from the bubblie, sticks it in his mouth, and hands the plate over. "Uerv," he says. It might be interpreted as 'Here'.
K'laarn arrived just before the first egg cracked, and stopped by his weyrmate. "Lookit all those eggs!" He says with a grin, then quickly he pulls out a small chunk of meat from a pouch held in one hand. "Good thing you had a watch on these so we'd know when they'd start to hatch, though why we left them here, so exposed is beyond my guess."
Raven points Aidan's way. "He's got food!" she says and smiles when he hands it to Telinda, watching the firelizard and the eggs excitedly. She looks over at K'laarn, and grins.
Nareisa ers... "I didn't think they ate bubblies?"
Rose shrugs emptoyly to Nareisa. "I am afriad that I cannot help you....."
Telinda shrugs at K'laarn, "Everything gold in my life has ideas of her own." She nods to Nareisa, "Quick, go get something!" she calls out and then giggles at Aidan, "They won't eat that, need meat!"
Aidan takes the bubblie from his mouth and looks to Nareisa. "I know. The bubblie is for me. This," he says, nodding to the meat and greens on the plate, "is for them."
Nerian says "Cause I like you, Rose."
Sunlit Ocean Green Hatchling creels piteously, canting her delicate head from side to side as she hops around the remains of her shell.
K'laarn wiggles the little chunk of meat he has in his hands and says lightly "Just like you, my'dear. Ever willful, and fat. You're going to get very fat." He says smugly.
Nareisa scampers off. On a mission. Dum de dum dum.
Telinda pokes her tongue out at K'laarn, "Bah!"
Katolnar walks over from the lakeside meadow.
Nerian blinks. "Get fat?"
T'san looks sadly at his meatrolls. "I suppose there goes lunch."
Rose rolls her eyes at Nerian. "Well, you know I tolerate you as well as anyone, but, well public shows of affection?"
Raven smiles and looks at the firelizard, and then up at Katolnar. "Kat! Come'ere!"
Nerian giggles. "Well, someone has to keep you alert."
Katolnar hurries in behind a couple of younger girls. "They're hatching? What?! I thought it was in the caverns?" He looks entirely confused, and then, upon spying the lizards, edges over towards Raven as bid.
K'laarn replies, "Yes Nerian, the Weyrwoman is going to swell up like an ovine's stomach filled with air!" He chortles with glee, and the little chunk of meat is dropped into the sand, less threatening there.
Sunlit Ocean Green Hatchling hops over to Aidan, tilting her head and sniffing, that delicately shaped muzzle high in the air. Got food?!
Rose looks almost pleased. "Alert? You mean I am looking dopey? I mean, well I knew that I did not know about this clutch..."
Nerian just giggles.
Raven smiles and looks over at Aidan, winking a bit. "You're being watched Aidan." she giggles a little.
Nerian then peers at Telinda, gossip mode on. "Are you going to have a baby?"
Nareisa scurries back in. Eventually. With a tray laden with raw meat. "Er... do you think this is enough?" she holds it so everyone can get a bit.
Katolnar nudges Raven, "So what do we do?"
T'san nods, though doesn't take any.
Nerian bounces over and snatches some of the meat. "You offer them food and hope they come your way."
Rose groans. "Nareisa, I am hoping that is a joke."
Nareisa blinks. "What?"
Raven holds her hands wide. "Um... Meat." she says and takes some meat from Nareisa,"Get some Kat." she says, nodding, pretty sure that's what you do. She's seen this stuff before, but never -actually- participated in a hatching. She looks around. "Um... and I think we wiggle it."
Imara strides over from the lakeside meadow.
Katolnar eyes the meat, and then the eggs. And then the golden dam. He takes a handful, after being swarmed over by younger candidates, and edges as far away from the queen lizard as he can get.
Sunlit Ocean Green Hatchling is being ignored so quickly hops over to another candidate, deftly snagging the meat from his hands. There! Got it!
Raven watches, her eyes wide, just holding the meat quietly.
Theida walks over from the lakeside meadow.
Imara meanders onto the beach, unaware of the hatching until she realizes what the crowd of people are looking at. She quietly walks to the edge of the group and watches.
Theida blinks at the crowd of people, "What's going on here?" she inquires.
Nerian says "lizards hatching."
Telinda hears what Nerian says, finally, and turns to nod, "Seems Tiarnath confirmed it the other night. I'm going to have to start remembering this problem, or we'll be swarmed over with kiddies!"
Katolnar wiggles his meat half heartedly, circling around to a spot near the clutch, but hopefully not where Elidi will scold him. He waves his meat-filled hand at the new arrivals and offers, "They said to get meat and wiggle it at 'em."
Nerian grins. "Congratulations." Despite her words, the tone of voice is more definitely a "better you than me".
Nareisa puts the meat somewhere down after everyone has grabbed what they want, sits somewhere she can see, but not crowding anyone, and holds out some meat, waggling it like she's seeing others do.
Theida takes a few steps closer, "Oh, firelizards. Anyone mind if I try?"
T'san scootches over toward Nerian.
Craw walks over from the lakeside meadow.
Imara finds some meat and moves closer to the eggs, but not too close. She holds both hands out, wiggling the meat around.
Craw pauses after coming to the group. "What's going on, is it a party, I mean did I miss something, is the numbweed brewing happening now? I thought it was later, hrm what is going on?"
Aidan watches the eggs and the hatchling. The bubblie has nearly been finished off, and a single strip of roast wherry now dangles between thumb and forefinger.
Nerian says "Lizards are hatching."
Theida searches around, findinger herself some meat and inches closer to the clutch.
Coruscating White Egg shudders with taps from within, knocking at its inner surface with a pattern seemingly as random as the splashing appearances of stars across the sky's arcing overhead. To the tiny mind of the hatchling, this must have some reason behind it, for the egg cracks at its stressed points in a meteor shower of shards.
Coruscating White Egg twirls like a dancer caught in a toss at a gather.
Craw ohs and looks at all the meat everyone has and his bare hands "My sisters firelizard is cute, my third oldest that is, that is to say, I mean the little blue, not that my sister is blue but the firelizard is blue. So where did you you all get your meat? Are the eggs are taken?"
With the parting of the day -- rich red-gold muted and softened into warm sunset-bronze over this firelizard's hide -- the reef changes. Stripes of vibrant-red decorate his wings, shadows make them seem oddly fan-like, almost as if they were the fins of a fish. Indeed, vivid sapphire, effulgent golds and dazzling amethyst swim between his neckridges in a parody of motion.
Dusky White Egg hazards a movement. A gentle swaying before gyrating wildly.
Sunlit Ocean Green Hatchling looks at Aidan. More food? Can I, can I?
Nareisa points Craw at the meat that she brought. "There's plenty there," before her eyes widen. "Oh..." that's all she can say to the appearance of this latest. Wagglewagglemeat.
T'san sees the green occupied, so offers his meatroll toward the newest hatchling.
Dusky White Egg shifts slowly, then with increasing urgency, as cracks plough across it, widening furrows in the shell, the firelizard inside struggling to be free. Like a young shoot growing, a head wriggles its way through a gap, struggling to unfurl, until the egg shatters entire.
Aidan looks down at the green. "You're not getting my bubblie," he grumbles, pushing the rest of the dessert into his open mouth.
Raven oos quietly at the bronze and just wavers her meat back and forht, smiling at Katolnar. "Would you lookit' that." she says, brightly asthe firelizard seems as though he were a jewel.
As if looking over a ledge into the fathomless depths of the ocean, the hide of this blue is vivid in colouration. Subtle transitions of blue are visible -- from pale aquamarine to effulgent sapphire. Slate marks his neckridges, shadowy forms appearing as they make their way down his back to his tail like a large sea creature swimming through the depths.
The talkative lad goes to where Nareisa is and smiles to her "Thanks, I mean I don't even have a bubbly well I did but it was eaten so." Craw sits down and choises one of the more fresher pieces of meat left and dangles it.
Raven oos quietly. "And a blue too!"
Katolnar nods to Raven. "I see 'em." He keeps a wary eye on Elidi, wiggling his meat carefully. Finally he just gives in and tosses a small chunk in towards the newest hatchlings.
Rose looks at the little hatchlings, she was tryingt o look stony faced, but well, even her eyes are softening now.
The Sunlit Ocean Green Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Aidan, looking up at him with whirling eyes.
Imara smiles at the newly hatched bronze. "Wow, what a handsome firelizard." She continues to wiggle her meat energetically and glances at the blue. "He's pretty too." She moves her hand so it's pointed somewhere in the middle of the two.
Aidan looks warily at the green. "Ok, you can have my food, but not any bubblies," he says sternly, taking the green into his arms.
Aidan smiles as Sunlit Ocean Green Hatchling flies to his shoulder.
Nareisa smiles a little at Craw. "Er... well, you know, that's okay. Ooh, look at that," she beams at Aidan. "That was quick." Her dangling meat stops in its waggling as she watches in rapt fascination.
Craw dangles the meat in an absentminded sort of way as he looks at Aidan "You are not going to give the firelizard your bubblies? Well that is good I think, I mean they like meat mostly do they? I mean the little blue that my sister has, always wanted fish." When Nareisa talks to him he turns to her and says "Okay, good, I mean thank you."
Rose looks over where there is some meat, seems about to take a piece, then stops, biting down on her lip.
Raven smiles still leaving her hands extended in muted offering to the firelizards as they seem to arrive through a flurry of shards like a strike of lightening on a cloudy night.
Sunset Sealife Bronze Hatchling chitters and flaps his wings repeatively. What do I do, what do I do? He ambles around, and eventually manages to find a shard of egg to fall over, promptly creeling in distress.
T'san watches, continuing to hold out his meatroll, though he watches Aidan surreptitiously.
Raven inhales sharply as the tiny bronze falls. "Oh my." she says, biting her lip and wiggling the meat. "He looks okay to me... but he sure doesn't sound it." she says, wincing a bit as he creels in distress.
It doesn't take long at all for Tiarny's maw to be filled, and her stomach bulging with meat. Aidan frowns slightly, pulling one finger over the stretched stomach, and then turns his gaze back to the hatching. "Is he all right?" he whispers--one might think to the green, though it is more likely to the Candidates near him.
Katolnar winces faintly, "Poor buggar." He tosses out another glob of meat, towards the newly hatched lizard. "I'd not dare to go near him, though." He eyes Elidi suspiciously.
Nareisa nods shyly to Craw, and then peers at the bronze. "Oh dear," she almost -almost- reaches out to pick him up. "Oh you can't touch them can you?" d'oh!
Craw turns to the bronze as he falls down and then says "Oh that isn't good, or is it, I mean I hate falling down that way, it can be really bad, one time I fell down and hurt my ankle for a week, couldn't walk for almost a sevenday." The meat in Craw's hands twitches occasionaly, mostly 'cause the lad moves it when he speaks.
Shasta strides over from the lakeside meadow.
Imara chuckles softly until the bronze trips. Her wiggling hand moves until it points in his direction. "Here," she offers, her voice barely above a whisper.
Fathomless Pelagic Blue Hatchling looks around and runs over to one of the candidates, quickly grabbing a morsel of food, then running away again.
Rose bends down a little, inspecting the small ones in the sand, looking at a loss, and also in conrol of what may well be her version of maternal instincts.
Nerian bounces over and hugs Shasta.
Katolnar plomps down in the sand, wiggling his rear comfortably into a wallow. He gives a wave over to Shasta. Unfortunately, the greeting is with the hand holding the meat. A few more globs fall into the sand around him.
Raven giggles at the blue that's running around snatching food, but keeps a wary eye on the bronze that has fallen. She clears her throat and looks at Kat with a bit of a smile.
Sunset Sealife Bronze Hatchling finally manages to get himself upright again, with a great deal of wing wiggling. Tilting his head to one side he stares up curiously at the pink thing in front of him who just cleared her throat. Hrm. Food? he creels, a little softer than before.
Nareisa eventually manages to remember to waggle her meat again, having been completely distracted by the antics of both bronze and blue. "They're so tiny," she murmurs, quite possibly to herself.
Shasta heads along the beach, squinting as she focusses on the cluster of weyrfolk gathered her. A grin, as she's caught up in a hug, and the brownrider laughs. "Heya, Nerian! that gold's clutch finally going, hmmm?" One arm lifts to wave to those who notice her.
Fathomless Pelagic Blue Hatchling snorts at the giggles he got. He'll show them! With that, he dashes here and there, trying to snag bits of dangling meat from as many people as he can!
The lad turns to talk to the suddenly shy Nareissa while his meat dangles. "Oh no, not allowed to touch, well once they touch you, you can touch them but until then you have to leave them be. I don't know why, I mean like it would be better I think but well that is the way to go."
Raven smiles a little at the bronze hatchling and offers a bit of her meat to him. "Hungry fella?" she asks, quietly of the tiny bronze firelizard who seems to have finally regained his posture.
Somber White Egg dances a crazy path of circles in the sand that has trickled down when it rolled from the mound.
Sunset Sealife Bronze Hatchling is exceptionally hungry! Better watch those fingers!.
Raven drops a bit of meat, careful not to lose a finger in the process of making her offerings to the snappy little bronze hatchling that is -clearly- hungry.
Imara grins at the blue, and her eyes dart between the two as she tries to watch them both. Her hand keeps wiggling the meat it holds in a repetitive motion.
When the meet from Craw is snatched away the lad kinda jumps a little in surprise before turning to see what happened to it. Seeing the blue with lots of meat from everyone the lad says with a smile "Well he isn't picky, I mean, those are alot of peoples food isn't it, Well firelizards are like that. At least the ones i know." The lad picks up another piece of meat and dangles it too.
Katolnar grins at the blue. "Greedy little things, aren't they? Here, falla, you needn't snatch." Besides, it's safer if they don't get that close. He tosses more meat in front of him, aimed vaguely at the blue.
T'san continues holding out his meatroll to unattached hatchlings.
Nareisa grins over at Raven. "Oh look," nudging someone next to her, "he's taken a liking to Raven." She grins at her fellow candidate, Raven that is. And there's so many other things to look at. That blue...."Oh my. He must be hungry." wagglewaggle meat.
Fathomless Pelagic Blue Hatchling bounds over to Katolnar. Ahh, a worthy worshiper!
Nerian holds her meat out for the ignor -- well, not-so-ignored blue.
Theida waggles her little chunk of meet, the juices dripping of to make little dots in the sand below.
Katolnar darts a glance over to Elidi, as if expecting her to fly at his head. He sneaks another bit of meat towards the blue. "Here... just don't tell your mother."
K'laarn leaves that piece of meat he dropped earlier in the sand in front of him. Meanwhile, he pulls out another small raw chunk of meat and dangles it from fingertips.
Rose cannot resist anylonger, and takes, well perhaps steals a little fresh meat, waiting surrepticiously for one who may need her.
The Fathomless Pelagic Blue Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Katolnar, looking up at him with whirling eyes.
Katolnar smiles as Fathomless Pelagic Blue Hatchling flies to his shoulder.
Craw smiles at Katolonar impresses the little blue but continues to talk away like he doesn't have a care in the world. "That blue was like the one I knew, well one of them, I mean my oldest brother has two blues but they don't like me as much, well they do but they always seem so self important which is kinda funny for a blue hatching to be but they are, I mean they are worse then a green at times when they try to make you do what you want to do."
Shasta hangs back on the outskirst of the group, watching the little firelizard hatchlings staggar about, nodding with approval as one makes Impression.
Theida strides over to the lakeside meadow.
Katolnar looks rather astonished as he ends up with the little blue form in his lap. Then his expression softens, and he murmurs, "All right, here. Don't choke. And don't tell momma." But this time he doesn't even look up at the golden dam. He scooches back a bit in the sand, murmuring to the creature in his lap.
The Sunset Sealife Bronze Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Raven, looking up at her with whirling eyes.
Raven smiles as Sunset Sealife Bronze Hatchling flies to her shoulder.
Glossy White Egg shudders and rolls out of the mound of sand.
Nareisa peers. "Oh look at that... so fast," her tone is whistful. "Really?" to Craw.
Raven smiles and sits down on the beach, cradling Night.
"Oh yes, I mean my eldest sister gold was the one who was the most bossy." Craw says to Nareisa "I mean she could natter at you for hours on end trying to make sure she was feed and well oiled. She was, I mean I think she was just jealous, don't know why either 'cause she got alot of attention."
Glossy White Egg suddenly starts to whirl around in circles as the hatchling inside struggles for admittance into the world.
Imara looks down at her hands, still wiggling away, and stops them. "Hmm. Wonder when the rest of them will hatch..." she says to herself as she glances at the pile of eggs that haven't hatched yet.
Iridescent White Egg moves briefly before stopping. It moves again. Stops. Moves. It can't seem to make up its mind.
Nareisa listens to Craw with rapt attention. "Really? They never let me near the firelizards if they could help it. I was always assigned some chore... You know, this is the first hatching I've seen," watching the hatchlings and their new owners whistfully.
Rose stays on bended knee, not talking to the others but looking rather like an embaressed ovine.
Raven continues to feed her little bronze on her lap.
Shasta eases herself into the little gathering of people, trying to get a better look as more eggs begin to show signs of motion. Muttered, "'scuse me, pardon me," can be heard, as she does so, perhaps joggling a person or two in her efforts.
Aidan moves Tiarny from her niche in his lap to curl her lithe body around his neck as she sleeps. "Handsome bronze," he says, leaning over towards Raven as he keeps one eye to keep track of the hatching.
Glossy White Egg spins around and around in a concerted movement of sound, faint notes of tapping audible. In a burst of chiming tones a tiny blue muzzle peeks out, shards falling about him in a flurry of notes as he shudders his way free.
Somber White Egg rolls, fissures spreading across the shell radiating from a central pressure-point as spokes rotate out from a wheel's hub. A sharp *crack*, the noise like the breaking of a wagon's axle, and a hatchling tumbles forth, wings spread wide to halt its journey.
The crystal-blues of a warm ocean splashing over a reef -- bright tourmaline, sparkling aqua, and iridescent sapphire -- glitter over this blues hide. Tiny fingers of amethyst reach out from the blue, dancing over his wings like anemones moving in the grip of a current, whilst crimson-reds project similarly over his belly. The jade and lapis of mother-of-pearl washes wavy lines over his muzzle towards his tail.
Like wood, tossed to the shore by the power of the sea, this brown's hide bears a remarkable resemblance to the sunbleached shades of long-tossed driftwood. Rich sunlit browns play within the shadows of his flanks, silvered-browns caressing the tips of his neckridges as they make their way down to his tail. The faint bronze of his wings eclipses the bleached-brown of the rest of his hide, almost as they were in his shade, and not the other way around.
Iridescent White Egg rolls over slightly, swaying as if a tree in the wind. Like a leaf twisting and twining its way free at season's end, a small gold muzzle works herself loose from the shell to fall to the ground with a smashing of scallop-edged fragments as if a tree finally losing all leaves in winter's advance.
T'san holds out his meatroll to the brown hatchling.
Shafts of sunlight break through the depths to an underwater cavern -- hidden in a secret niche within a tropical reef -- filigreeing this gold with fine gossamer threads of radiant light. Her wings are washed with the shades of a mystical grotto, darker where Rukbat doesn't penetrate, lighter where it catches the shimmering forms of gilded-yellow shapes, reminiscent of tiny fish.
Nareisa just ohs. "Look..." her eyes are like saucers once again. "Oh my... three at once." The meat in her hands almost drops out before she remembers to hold it up and waggle it once again.
Nerian offers some of her raw herdbeast toward the blue and the gold.
Raven ohs softly and holds her sleeping bronze as she ventures to hold out her spare meat as the gold hatches. She smiles faintly and quietly strokes her tiny bronze, knowing that she's sure he'd like a friend.
Craw dangles the piece of meat (which is dripping nicely) as he talks to the candidate who actually paying attention to him "Oh my family has alot of firelizards, I mean we are a fisher family and well eggs are on beaches you know. We have them trainned, like my oldest brother has his getting bubblies for him, can you believe that, I want a filireard to do that for me."
Rose shifts nervously, holding the meat as though she is actually nervous of it. "Oh, wel...I..." She ponders what to do, shifting between dangling the meat to those who may wnat it and letting it hang at her side.
Aidan takes a bite of his dinner--what's left of it--as he continues his observation. Once the gold hatches, however, he loses his dinner--technically. The plate falls from his lap, and he only just stops the meat from leaving the sanctum of his mouth. "Oh!" he murmurs, eyes locking onto the golden hatchling's form.
Forgotten Driftwood Brown Hatchling seems to get the idea of all this legs, wings and tail thing, and stands a little more steady on his feet. He takes a long look around and heads off to a place the other side from where he was.
Nareisa looks up and says "You can have my place Rose, if you like," but her look to the hatchlings is whistful.
Imara quickly begins to wriggle her meat again as more of the eggs hatch. She smiles first at the brown, then the gold. "They're both so pretty..." She takes some meat into her other hand and begins wiggling it around. With both hands held out and moving, she strikes a comical picture of someone attempting to fly.
Rose looks at Nareise. "Why would I want to take yous? I think I am close enough...and well you know, N'all is not so keen." The meat dangles out to what ever hatchling would like it.
Aidan nudges Raven in the chest, nodding to the gold. "Isn't she gorgeous?" he murmurs, eyes still wide in awe. "I'd love to be the lucky one that Impresses her," he says, shaking his head slightly.
Shasta scuttles onto her knees, slim shoulders twisted to ease her between the press of shoulders, flashing a grin at the chattering Craw as she does so. Meat is procured after only a moments' brief thought, and thrust forward pinched between finger and thumb. "My, they're hatching in a flurry," she observes, giving the offered meat a little jiggle.
Nareisa ohs, the meat in her hand stilling. "Do you think he'd be mad if I..." sigh.
T'san continues to hold his meatroll out to the forgotten brown, remaining steady to counteract his wobbliness.
Raven smiles and nods, holding her meat out for the gold. "She certainly is Aidan." and then nods again, "I'd too..."
Craws meat continues to dangle as he says to Naresia "You are leaving? Why are you leaving? Oh Hello Shasta, how are you doing? Do you want a firelizard as well. I mean firelizards are cool I think ... N'all? Why would N'all be mad? He is an okay guy isn't he, why would you mind firelizards."
Aidan shrugs slightly, looking to the green. "Oh well. I've got one. Shouldn't be selfish, I suppose," he sighs, though his glance is still one of awe.
Underwater Filigreed Gold Hatchling casts an imperious look around at all these white things and nudges her dam. I'm meant to go to one of them? she creels, looking majorly unsure of the whole thing.
Nerian seems torn between the blue and the gold, offering her herdbeast both ways alternatively.
Raven smiles a little at Aidan, nudging him. "Oh come on. It won't hurt to try." she says, smiling and petting Night. "We don't love ours any less, but ambition is the fuel for imagination, Aidan." she says, turning her gaze and attention back to the little gold.
Rose dangles the meat still, in nervousness. "he already thinks Oscar is a nuisance Craw." However seems her heart has overruled her head.
Aidan leans back onto his elbows, with Tiarny's tail swinging between his shoulder blades. "Yeah, I just think it's selfish too. Though... I would certainly love to have her..." he says, reconsidering as his hand begins to creep to meat.
Nareisa apparently takes Rose's lead, offering her meat once again. Fairly indescriminately.
"Oscar? Who is oscar?" Craw says to Rose as he contines to hold his meat with twitches constantly while the lad talks "Is he your firelizard, you have a firelizard? Does he do tricks? I mean my oldest brothers gets him bubblies, can yours do that?"
Raven quirks one eyebrow. "Then I'm selfish. Thanks Aidan." she says rolling her eyes, and then paying attention to the gold, muttering, "But appreciation of beauty often surpases that which some may deem selfish."
Shasta chuckles softly, simply nodding in answer to Craw, not even trying to squeeze a word in edgewise in the young man's babbling. She's already learned it's rather useless. The scrap of herdbeast meat in her fingers wriggles and jiggles, dripping little splatters of juices as it does so. "I'd forgotten how tiny they are," She says, bemused.
Imara tries to watch at both hatchlings at once, resulting in her head moving back and forth as if she were shaking it. The big smile on her face doesn't help her appearance as she continues to flap like a wherry.
Aidan final makes up his mind. If he's selfish, he's selfish. "Here, beauty," he calls softly, tossing small bits of meat in a neat line in front of him, each one farther out, towards the gold.
Rose chuckles a little at Craw. "he is my blue firelizard, yes."
Lustrous White Egg shudders and rolls out of the mound of sand.
Lustrous White Egg swivels and rocks in its precarious position. Elidi looks at it and shoves it with her snout, causing it to roll completely out of the mound.
Forgotten Driftwood Brown Hatchling totters over to T'san and creels. He was forgotten? Please tell him that's not so!
Lustrous White Egg shivers, surface rippling under the varied batterings of an anxious hatchling inside, with the movements of a sheet of hide flapping in the wind. Through this force, cracks widen across the shell as if a hide had been left out too long and had aged and split. A final snapping noise and a hatchling emerges.
Dark kelp-green fronds seem to swirl in symphonic harmonies over the hide of this green, almost as if the ocean were pulling it to and fro. Her wings are the tropical turquoise of a Southern sea sparkling iridescently in Rukbat's beams, whilst her belly seems home to many forms of life -- from amethyst to ruby, sapphire to emerald -- that hide amongst the jade of her colouring.
K'laarn wiggles his raw bit of heardbeast from fingertips while leaning out extending an arm so that he seems to be far away from the meat.
Rose has another one to try not to look too attached about, the dilema only seems to soften Rose's face more as she smiles down atthe hatchlings, meat dripping deliciously down.
Nareisa mmms, "Look at that," quietly, as the brown takes an interest in someone. "I wonder what they're doing differently?" she wagglewaggles her meat distractedly.
Nerian rubs her eyes with her other hand. "Shards, I must be seeing a blue near Tinnerh." She holds her meat toward the actual gold, since T'san is paying attention to the brown.
Aidan makes a small noise, looking to Raven. "Think she likes music?" he asks, sitting up. "I am a Harper, after all," he says, closing his eyes as he tries to think of a song befitting the queen.
"Doing differently?" Craw says in a confused sort of way before saying "Maybe they have a diffrent meet, i don't know, maybe we are in the wrong spot, that could be it, i don't know, I don't think you should worry, I mean there is lots of them."
Raven shrugs a little and quirks a smile. "I don't know oh selfish one." she says, sarcastically. "I'm sure she would though, provided it doesn't come from Katolnar."
T'san gently offers the meatroll to the brown, pulling out another and readying it.
Aidan grins. "I bet she'd like Moreta's Ballad," he murmurs to Raven, smirking at her comment as he begins to hum softly.
Forgotten Driftwood Brown Hatchling snarfles that meatroll pretty darned quick and burps, rather loudly for something so small.
Rose shrugs at Nareisa. "I ever eve tried to get my first one you know, he just sorta decided I was as grumpy as him."
The Forgotten Driftwood Brown Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of T'san, looking up at him with whirling eyes.
T'san grins and feeds the brown the next one.
T'san smiles as Forgotten Driftwood Brown Hatchling flies to his shoulder.
Nareisa ohs? "Really?" she just watches all of the goings on somewhat bemused. "Everything's happening so fast.... oh!" she sends T'san a smile, whether or not it's seen.
Imara notices the green as she attempts to split her attention between the other hatchlings. She sighs and glances down at her stomach. "Wish I had a third arm..." She finally just closes her eyes and wiggles her meat to no hatchling in particular.
Raven rolls her eyes a little at the exharper and simply continues to offer that which she has, meat. Wet dripping, as she wavers it back and forth, back and forth, back and forth hypnotically as tiny drops dribble off the slippery raw meat, drip drip dripping down onto the ground where the juice creates tiny globules of dirt.
Underwater Filigreed Gold Hatchling doesn't like music, sorry, but there's the truth of it. Later, maybe, when her belly is full. But first things first. She casts her glance around and snorts. Who, who, who!?
Aidan grins. "Even if I don't Impress her," he continues to Raven through his humming, "I can at least give her a proper entrance."
Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling sits in a heap on top of her egg shards, and creels. What does she do? Where is the promised food/land?!
Rose smiles at Nareisa. "Really...Oscar is still a grumpy little thing." She dangles the dripping raw meat out, letting its smell do the trick, if any of the clutch wants her they are sure to know it afterall.
Nerian tries to sit still as she holds out her herdbeast to the gold, but it and she both tremble. Neri does look around for the little blue, occasioanally.
Shasta flashes a smile, as the browns' interest in T'san eliminates one hatchling from the clutch, and her meat swings over closer to the others. "So many!" She exclaims, trying her best to keep her hand from bumping that of her neighbour. Meat waggles, held close to the ground, the very end of it brushing delicately against the grass beneath it.
Raven nods a little at Aidan, "Perhaps." she says, shrugging as she continues to offer her meat to the the tiny gold hatchling, -or- whoever wants it that is hatching into this foreign world.
Nareisa blinkblinks, and holds her meat out once again. "I don't think you're so grumpy, Rose," quietly. Maybe Rose won't hear it.
Nerian nodnods at Nareisa. "Rose is nice!"
Crystal Anemone Blue Hatchling is hiding behind his egg shards. Every now and then he looks over, darts out, grabs some disregard piece of food, then darts back again.
T'san sits back to watch, content with his brown.
Craw turns his attention to the hatchings and decides to see if they l;ike to listen as well. "Hello there, i am Craw, I am a candidate, well I was a fisherman but I didn;t want to be one, I mean I find it kinda boring but I still have lots of fish you want to come to me, I mean do you like fish? It can be tasty I know and some fish make nice oil for your skin, are you itchy?" While all this is being says the lad dangles his meat in front of him.
Juice drips from Imara's meat-filled hands as she tirelessly wiggles, jiggles, and waves the food around, doing her best to make it enticing while her eyes are closed.
Rose hmms a little as Nareisa. "Well little ones, this meat is certainly fresh you know! " That is right, practical talk will win them over.
Nareisa can't keep her eyes in one spot. There's so much to see. She just waggles her meat, hopefully whistfully, just turning once to smile just a little at her brother's weyrmate.
Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling darts in, grabs the food from Imara's hand then goes back to sitting on her egg shards. Was that an illusion? Perhaps. Imara's eyes are closed, so.. but the meat is gone.
Shasta doesn't talk to the hatchlings; in fact, she barely talks beyond brief comments. Her eyes now and then dart up to glance at Rose, and Craw in turn as they speak, but return quickly to the tiny hatchlings. Dark green eyes focus intently on first the little blue, then the gold, her red-splattered meat winding around in twisted circles.
Imara opens her eyes and looks at her empty hands. "Hey, where'd it go?" She looks around quickly. "Now I've got nothing to attract a hatchling with."
Raven holds out to Imara a bit of her meat that is dripping. She smiles a little. Though she be selfish enough to try for the gold, she is never to selfish to help her friends.
Nareisa points at the tray. "There's some over..." oh Raven's fixed the problem.
Nerian notices the blue and once again wavers, offering food to where he was, then back to the little gold, who's mercifully sitting still.
Aidan leaves the gold to her searching and goes to the task of cleaning the meat and grins which fell from the plate on his lap when the gold hatched. "Well, there goes my food," he murmurs.
Craw starts to offer food to Imara but stops when Raven does so. The full stream of chatter keeps on going thou. "How are you feeling, I mean you look cute and all, I meanm really tiny. Why did you take Imara's food, I mean do you think that stuff is particularly good or was it something else?"
Underwater Filigreed Gold Hatchling finally seems to make up her mind, traipsing forth with her tail streaming behind her. She tilts her head at one person, then moves on to another. If anyone was fussy where their food came from, this one is.
Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling sits innocently on her patch of egg shards, tail curled sinously around her, and humms softly as she waits for the next trick.
Imara smiles gratefully at Raven. "Thanks," she says as she accepts the meat. She starts to wave it around, this time keeping her eyes open.
Nareisa pokes her meat at the little gold as it goes past, not right in the face, of course, but just in that direction. "She's pretty," she murmurs quietly to nobody in particular, but "they all are."
Nerian stills again, holding out the piece of herdbeast hopefully, still trembling a little, and still trying to keep track of both blue and gold.
Rose has a thoughtful smile, perhaps worried over what her actions may actually bring about, as she neatly holds the tender food to the hungry hoardes.
Raven watches the gold's interest in -Aidan?- She may not have liked music, but her tastes are rather odd. She smiles and keeps her meat out should any of the firelizards still be hungry enough to want to eat of it.
Crystal Anemone Blue Hatchling peeks over the shards, then hides once more. If peek-a-boo were a game firelizards played, then this would be his. Who's going to pay him attention!?
Aidan lets a bright smile to his features as he manages to salvage one piece of meat--small, but tender. "Mmm..." he murmurs, and tears off half of the meat. "Here," he says, handing it to Raven. "Be selfish with this."
Craw looks at the blue who is playing ppek a boo and asks him "Are you playing,I mean you look like your are playing so you must be playing. I mean that is good i think, to play, I mean that 'cause I like tp play on occasion as well but I am not suppose tas much 'cause I am suppose to be older and everything." The lad's meet continues to jiggle as he talks.
K'laarn laughs at the shy little blue firelizard and then teases a little jiggle with his meat, He keeps his laughter soft and subtle while shifting himself on his knees.
Raven smiles and takes the meat, nodding a little. "Thanks." she says, keeping her focus on the gold, and still offering her raw meat, but in addition, she gives the offering of Aidan's meat, shrugging a little. A little variety can be good at times. She smiles over in the direction of the green and blue also, never narrowing her fields down to one, her tiny bronze happily curled up on her lap, his tail laying over his nose.
Aidan sets the half of the meat he kept on his knee. "Save this for her when she wakes up," he says, indicating the green around his neck.
T'san feeds his brown to sleep and stays to watch.
Shasta holds her meat carefully, stilling the twisting jumps it was taking, as the little gold begins to move from one to another. But still, her attention leaps from gold to the glimmer of blue where the blue makes an occasional appearance.
Underwater Filigreed Gold Hatchling steps in front of one of the people who's attention keeps flickering to her blue sibling and then back to her. You know, that's really not the way it should be, the attention should be on her, like all these other fools. With quickness she snips the food from Shasta's hand, then looks around. Food, more food! Now the taste has gotten to her, she's eager for more.
Imara smiles at the gold, chuckles at the blue, and eyes the green suspiciously as she flips the meat around, spattering juice everywhere.
Raven grins and continues to hold out meat for the hatchlings.
Nerian continues holding out her meat, almost managing to stay still, but making no noise.
Crystal Anemone Blue Hatchling peeks at Craw. Ooh, someone spoke to him! He dashes out, grabs whatever food the boy has and then starts chittering questions at the candidate.
Nareisa grins as the gold takes meat from Shasta, and then giggles at the blue. "Oh look, Craw," nudging him, like he can't see for himself. her meat continues its waggling, once again, indescriminate.
Rose nods to Shasta. "Well, there you are dear." Simple statement follwed by her simple show of food to the hatchilings
Craw smiles at the little blue as the questions are asked and the lad tries to look thoughtful for a minute as he tries to figure out just what the blue is saying "yes, I can get more food, I mean do you like fish, I am sure you like fish. I bet you will like bubblies as well, anyways yes you are cute, hrm, what else,. what else. Do you want to be scritched is that it? I mean I can scritch pretty good."
Shasta's fingers are quickly made empty, while her eyes were focussed on the last known location of the hiding blue. "Oh!" is her involuntary exclamation, as her attention goes to bloody empty fingers, to the little gold. "More?" She asks, her first word directed to any of the hatchlings, and those blood-splattered hands reach for more meat in a dash.
Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling gets splattered by Imara-juice, and snorts, getting off her shards and heading over to Imara to scold her fiercely! That's precious meat, that is!
Crystal Anemone Blue Hatchling chitters away to Craw as he 'chatters' to him, and between them it's like a million vtols buzzing away! Fish. Yes. Food. Yes. Food..YES!!!
The Crystal Anemone Blue Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Craw, looking up at him with whirling eyes.
Craw smiles as Crystal Anemone Blue Hatchling flies to his shoulder.
Glistening White Egg shudders and rolls out of the mound of sand.
Glistening White Egg wobble-spins, in tighter and tighter, ever increasingly faster, circles.
Craw continues to chat away with his new firelizard. Talking about bubblies and fish and everything while the lad try's to feed the open maw of the blue.
Glistening White Egg resounds with low tapping noises, as if a smith's hammer struck away at some stubbornly unyielding curve of metal. With a stronger, harder knocking, the egg shivers on its base before the shell almost seems to pull away in slivers from the hatchling within.
Like a forgotten cargo at the bottom of the ocean, this bronze gleams with the gently lit forms of rusted brass. Time has invariably tarnished the once gleaming polish of his hide, coating it with deep jades over his neckridges -- a testament to the briny immersion. Gilt edges his pinions, before concluding in elaborate decorations over the rusted-orange of his wings.
Underwater Filigreed Gold Hatchling certainly wants more food, that's pretty obvious from the way she chitter-scolds Shasta. Feed me, Seym..umm, Shasta!
Imara blinks at the green in front of her, the meat-wiggling beginning to slow in her curiosity. "Excuse me?" she asks indignantly.
Raven watches the egg spin around and blinks. She smiles at the newest bronze, still keeping her offerings of meat extended should any hatchling want it. She tilts her head a little, marveling at the difference in coloration between her little bronze and this newest one.
The Underwater Filigreed Gold Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Shasta, looking up at her with whirling eyes.
Rose is usually unmoved by beauty of anykind, at least to anyone around her. As the bronze emerges though she actually twitters a little. "Oh my handsome is as..." She then blushes furiously.
Nareisa grins at Craw... grins at Shasta and....oh look at that. "Another one," she breathes. So many.
Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling continues to scold Imara, she got splattered and this candidate will surely hear of it. No doubt there! No doubt at all!
Craw gets up and walks away with his new firelizard while having a smile on his face as he and his new friend chatter away to each other.
Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling casts his hungry glance around and starts heading down the trail of blood splatters. Maybe it'll lead to the edge of the rainbow...
Shasta indeed does feed the little gold quickly, enticing her closer to her knees with morsels of bloody meat - not her own blood, we'll have none of that! Still in silence, with a quick smile directed to those around, she gathers the little creature close.
Shasta smiles as Underwater Filigreed Gold Hatchling flies to her shoulder.
Nerian grins at Shasta and looks a bit sadly at Craw and his blue.
Shadowy White Egg shudders and rolls out of the mound of sand.
Shadowy White Egg slides from its mound and almost knocks Elidi into a heap of gold hide. She snorts as she turns around, looking a little worried.
Raven smiles at the hatchlings as they go wandering about, continuing to offer her meat.
Shadowy White Egg pitches and heaves, a vessel spun about on maddened seas as the hatchling inside batters furiously at the egg with the force of waves beating against a frail hull. In a splashing shatter of fragments, the shell collapses under the onslaught, as the hatchling forces out his way.
Sloping from a sandy beach, the sand gradually differs in colour and appearance, similar to this brown's shading. Predominantly tan, but coated with tiny speckles of ivory and ebony, his wings appear grainy where the hues attempt to blend. Grass-greens sweep over his muzzle to the fork of his tail, like the dunes themselves had been swept into the ocean.
Imara watches the green for a moment. She shrugs, not being able to understand what the hatchling is trying to tell her. "Is it the meat that you want?" she asks. "Because you can have it if it you want it that bad." She tosses the meat towards the scolding green, aiming for her mouth.
Rose looks at those around her just briefly, then lets her meet and eyes meet the bronze meat near him, before guiltily looking at the bronw that ahs just emerged, also offering somethingt o tempt that one. Well, seems just liek she is with the riders, the bronze has a draw.
Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling wants the meat for sure, and catches it neatly (well, for a newly hatched 'lizard) in her jaws. She heads nearer to Imara, still chittering away at the girl, and looks up. More food?!
Nareisa peers at the green and the bronze, and.... brown and...."So quickly," more whistful now.
Raven oos quietly and continues to offer meat to the firelizards as they seem to be coming from everywhere, giggling softly as Night awakens momentarily to cheeple before turning over in Raven's lap to lay on his back, his head curled one way, his tail the other to keep him popped up, his tiny paws occassionaly whapping at the air.
Imara grins, "Oh, so now you want more hmm?" She reaches behind her to the tray that Nareisa had pointed out to her. Taking a big handful, she plops it down on the ground in front of the green. "There you are."
Auralia strides over from the Lakeside Meadow.
Shasta eases back from the cluster of people around the eggs, from the noise and chatter, silencing the creels of the tiny gold in her hand with offerings of meat.
Syrena hops off the travel wagon as it comes to a stop.
Sea Floor Sandy Brown Hatchling wiggles himself upright and looks around, sniffing here and there. Oh..what's that terrific smell!? Could it be? It must be? Surely, it has to be?! Foooooooood!
The Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Imara, looking up at her with whirling eyes.
Imara smiles as Swaying Kelp Green Hatchling flies to her shoulder.
Raven giggles a little at the brown and wavers her meat back and forth, reaching down with one hand to tickle softly at the bared underbelly of Night on her lap, looking down occassionally with warm eyes.
Rose looks at the brown now as well, head swivelling from the bronze that so caught her attention and back, the food they all so crave is discreetly in her hand. She shifts a little, having to change her position incase she stiffens.
Auralia strides out of the candidates barracks and stops dead. What is this she see's before her? She blinks, "Oh my." She reaches into her pocket, finaly coming up with a meatroll, remembering that firelizards like meat. She kneels, holding the meat out carefuly, not sure what to do, really.
Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling reaches the end of his rainbow and sniffs! Nothing but old blood here. Surely there's something more for this fine little fellow?! Please let there be more!
Raven watches this tiny bronze walk around, quirking one eyebrow, but continues to waver the meat back and forth, looking up at Auralia and smiling, holding out some meat for the other candidate as well. Maybe she'll impress an Auralia.
Syrena walks up quietly, settling in the sand on the outside to watch. She kneels in the sand, the fresh wherry she'd brought when she heard there was something going on outside as she arrived at the weyr sits unoffered in her lap. There are too many people here already into vying for the hatchling's attention. She leans forward, smiling, content just to watch and enjoy.
Nareisa keeps her eyes on the hatchlings, meat waggling once more. "Ceruth is bronze," duh.
Rose reaches behind her and gets another bit of meat, may as well try to satisfy one or other of these males. She huffs a little gently as she balances both offerings. Nareisa's coment gets a little grin. "Indeed, one of the best of course."
Auralia grins, discarding her meatroll readily. After all, the meatroll is just a little bit stale. New meat in hand, she seems to have more confidence, and holds it out closer to the hatchlings. "Here you go, little ones. Nice, fresh, meat."
Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling chuffs! He reaches over and snaps the meat from Nareisa's hand, then just to make sure this rainbow is at it's conclusion, he steals the meat from Rose, Raven and Syrena too. Greedy little blighter!
Raven giggles at the little bronze as he runs around stealing food, shaking her head.
Rose snorts. "Just the same as your bigger cousins and their riders, out for as much as you can get!" There is a hint of fondness in her voice however as she replaces what he snatched.
Nareisa blinks. "Did you see that?" she's meatless. She grabs more. "Do you think he'll..." oh look a bunch of other people got nabbed from too.
Syrena blinks in surprise as all the meat in her lap disappears. She giggles in reaction. Guess if he was that hungry he deserves it. She looks around her to see if there's anything nearby to replace what he's taken. Perhaps he's still hungry.
Imara smiles at the green as the little 'lizard perches perches on her shoulder. Her smile disappears quickly as she notices the bit of meat that the green brought with her. "Oh no, don't eat on my shoulder!" Too late, the meat has been dropped onto Imara's shoulder, near her neck, drops of juice dribbling down her arm.
Auralia looks down at her own meat, seeing the meat disapear from most everyone else. How strange that the bronze didn't come even near her. She grins at Imara, taking her mind of the hatchlings for a minute or two, "She's cute, Imara."
Nareisa pokes the new meat out now, grinning over at Rose.
Sea Floor Sandy Brown Hatchling snorts at his older sibling and follows him -- copyfeline! He does the fly-by, stealth-firelizard thing, but manages to nip one poor person's fingers who didn't manage to grab more meat!
Rose coughs a little. "Of course, maybe not N'all, maybe...." She makes sure that the brown gets a bit of a chance to shine over his clutchmate in the food stakes.
Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling warbles! Well, that rainbow was filling! He burps and looks around, stumbling a little, until he comes to that poking meat. What's this? It moves on it's own! Tiny talons rake out. Take that you dastardly meat!
Dull White Egg shudders and rolls out of the mound of sand.
A yelp escapes from Syrena's lips as she falls back onto her backside, fingers nipped. "Oh dear. They are hungry." She looks about again, rubbing her fingers and finds a bit of older herdbeast. Not as fresh, but its not her fingers on the next round. Ow.
Dull White Egg shudders as knocking sounds vibrate from within.
Raven giggles and continues wiggling the meat.
Dull White Egg trembles almost with an eagerness like that of a runner brought to the starting line of a racing length, with such force does it rock. A moment more, and, in the suddenness of a beast freed to speed along the track, a hatchling spills from the remains of this cracked shell.
As if a guardian against time, coral stands untouched except for the sea -- beautiful tree-like structures reaching out to caress the ocean with fire-hued bronzes, like the hide of this firelizard. Coruscating flame-reds flicker across his wings, eventually concluding in the pale renditions of charred wood. In what seems to be an attempt to quell the fire is inherent in the streams of briny-blue that runs from tip to tail.
Nareisa blinkblinks. "The bronze is attacking the meat?" They do that?
Raven ooos softly and continues to waver her meat back and forth.
Sea Floor Sandy Brown Hatchling cants his head at the person he obviously hurt, crooning softly at Serena. Sowwy. He dips his head and moves around to see where else he can get meat.
Rose looks as another bronze hatches. "I tell you it a take over plot." Nose wrinkles, but her comments sound less and less convincing, and she is still offering food to all that want it.
Imara smiles at Auralia, just noticing her. "Oh hi Aura." She grins, "She certainly is, though I think she needs a new eating spot." Juice travels down her arm, dripping off her fingers.
Raven wiggles the meat back and forth, playing quietly with Night's forepaw.
Syrena holds out her herdbeast to the brown, wriggling it. "There's some here, little one, you don't need to eat my fingers. Do you want it?" She tries to sound soothing and keeps her fingers well outof the way.
Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling is attacking your meat Nareisa, better watch those hands! What was the saying? Don't play with your food, before..Oh, yeah! And with that he snags it, killing it -- dead -- for sure!
Auralia, not the most dramatic type in the world, and certainly not the type to get too excited over the newest bronze, still manages to give it a smile of at least moderate enjoyment and excitement. Her meat is still offered, and she looks back at Imara, "Yeah, might be a good idea. Blood doesn't wash out too easily, from what I've seen."
Nareisa drops the meat. "er..." blink, snatching her hands back. "It's dead already," she says helpfully.
Fire Coral Bronze Hatchling stalks a piece of meat whilst it's owner is out to lunch..err, talking, that's right. Step. Shuffle. Step. Launch! Tiny wings open and he heads for Auralia's meat, but mistimes it and ends in a heap in her lap? Umm, yes, nice, lap, comfy lap.
Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling snorts at Nareisa. How can she be sure? Is she his dam? Er, no, wrong colour! Can we see more food to make sure this piece was really dead?!
Nareisa snatches another piece of meat, waggling it. "Do you think he's..." to nobody in particular, in a whistful tone. "My brother rides bronze," like she didn't already say that, and there was a single person in the entire weyr who didn't know anyway.
Sea Floor Sandy Brown Hatchling always wants food, isn't that the way of hatchlings, especially little, itty, bitty, newly hatched ones. He chitters at Syrena and deftly snags the piece of meat.
Forget about not being excited, Auri lets outa cry of surprise, and glee as the bronze ends up in her lap. She looks down at it and then frowns, "Is he mine? Did....." Giving up, she just feeds him.
Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling blinks at Nareisa. Well, if bronze is in the blood, in that case.. He grabs the meat, sniffing it -- doesn't smell dead, looks dead, must be dead -- and promptly snarfles that one too.
Rose looks at Nareisa with, ye sthat is indeed a fond smile. "Oh.....good."
Quietly breaking another chunk off the older beast in her lap, Syrena offers more meat to the cute little brown. "Here. You want more?" Soft smile touches the young girl's lips at the speed in which she was divested of meat.
Fire Coral Bronze Hatchling pokes his head up from Auralia's lap and blinks -- three sets of membranes all moving -- where'd the food go? Where'd who go?! Peering over the lap, he looks at his bronze sibling -- Ye ha! The meat is dead!
The Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Nareisa, looking up at her with whirling eyes.
Nareisa just blinks. "Um..." more meat? Right. She can do that. Take orders, this girl can do that sure. More meat is offered. "You sure are pretty. Remind me of my brother." OK, maybe the connection is a little tenuous, but...
Sea Floor Sandy Brown Hatchling bobs his little head. More is good. More is always good, and snags the meat, crooning happily.
The Sea Floor Sandy Brown Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Syrena, looking up at her with whirling eyes.
Auralia giggles at the little bronze in her lap, and watches the other bronze with a laugh.
Nareisa smiles as Sunken Brass Bronze Hatchling flies to her shoulder.
Syrena smiles as Sea Floor Sandy Brown Hatchling flies to her shoulder.
Fire Coral Bronze Hatchling prods Auralia with his talon. Come on, fess up, where'd the food go?
Syrena coos gently to the little brown and draws him into her lap, continueing to feed him carefully. "Oh, you are beautiful.. thank you for choosing me."
Auralia looks around helplessly, "Food? I need more food. He's still hungry. Anyone got any more?"
Rose walks over to Auralia and hands her her meat. "There you go...that will help."
Syrena looks up at Auralia and down at the little bit in her hands. "Um.. I'm going to need this for this little one. I'm sorry."
Dyani walks over from the landing field.
Auralia grins up to Rose, "Thank you ma'am." She looks back down and keeps feeding rapidly.
Fire Coral Bronze Hatchling sighs happily. Ah, my personal slave to feed me!
The Fire Coral Bronze Hatchling pauses with a questioning warble in front of Auralia, looking up at her with whirling eyes.
Auralia smiles as Fire Coral Bronze Hatchling flies to their shoulder.
Auralia grins, stroking the little bronze with a smile, "Isn't he perfect?"
Rose nods quickly. "He needs it, no point it just sitting in my hands."
Dyani pauses as she takes in all the people standing around something hidden from her view. A slight frown creeps to her lips but is gone almost before it can be noticed.
T'san heads north into the landing field.
Syrena crooons softly to her new little brown and feeds him til he falls asleep, with only a little herdbeast still in her hand. She strokes the little one's headknobs softly and looks up, holding out her meat. "Still need this Auralia?"
Telinda smiles, "Well, thank Faranth that's over with, Elidi, next time, choose a time when Tiarnath isn't with her eggs as well!"
Rose smiles dryly at Telinda. "I do not think they would ever be so helpful."
K'laarn smirks and stands erect. He dumps his meat on the sand, presumeably for other firelizards. "Now that excitement is over Tel, we need to go over some things if I could drag you off." He says seriously. "I need to discuss a few things with you.
Dyani finally spots the myriad newly hatched firelizards in a lot of arms and laps, and it's as if a glow suddenly was uncovered in her head. "Thank Faranth I missed this," she murmurs to nobody in particular. "Storm's enough of a handful."
Nerian rinses off her hands. "I'd better see what Tinneth is up to. He's awfully quiet."
Nerian heads north into the landing field.
Telinda mumbles at K'laarn, "Always something!" she says, standing up and brushing sand off her trousers.
You hold out your arm and Elidi flies over, lands and then hops quickly up to your shoulder.
Auralia smiles, looking up long enough to bluster a quick, "Thank you." perhaps directed to Elidi, perhaps to Telinda.
Telinda grins, waves and heads off.
K'laarn nods and looks appologetic, "Well." He says, "I can't help that." He chuckles and walks over to Telinda to lead her off.
You head north into the landing field, full of dragons.
