Telinda and K'laarn talk about love

March 1997, Logged by Telinda

Dragon> All sense that Rnayth croons to all the Southern Weyr dragons as he settles himself comfortably within the landing field. He greets the new dragons especially, finding them new, and someone interesting.

Tiarnath> I bespoke Pendrath with << Why does she get mad when I mention flying? >>

Dragon> All sense that Tiarnath croons lifting her head at the new voice << Greetings >> she projects << You don't by chance happen to know any new games do you? >>

Dragon> Pendrath bespoke Tiarnath with << Flying is very dangerous for weyrling dragon's that are not ready. One dragonet has already tried it and almost injured him and his rider >>

Dragon> All sense that Rialth warbles at the golds.

Dragon> Pendrath bespoke Tiarnath with << She is only mad because she is concerned for the young dragons and their mates. >>

Elidi> >> Eliora smiles brightly, "We're doing very well, thanks! How are you and Rnayth?"

Haven heads north into the landing field.

Tiarnath> I bespoke Pendrath with << Then she is being correct that I shouldn't go? >>

Elidi> >> Haven strides over from the Landing Field.

Dragon> Pendrath bespoke Tiarnath with << She is very correct. Llanth will teach you when his mate thinks you are ready. It will be soon. Do not fret. Your mate is wise to be cautious >>

Dragon> Werenth bespoke All with << I play too? >>

Elidi> >> Haven tosses her riding jacket, looking all too worn out for it only to be lunch. "Afternoon," she calls out, heading to fix a plate for lunch

Tiarnath> Pendrath senses that Tiarnath rumbles << My wings itch to be flying. It is no right to be down on the ground and I am already bigger than some of the flying greens and blues. >>

Werenth moves towards the the Weyrling Barracks.

Elidi> >> K'laarn grins "We're fine. He was curious about the new ones. So we came to visit."

Elidi> >> K'laarn nods toward Haven, not recalling her very well.

Werenth ambles across from the Weyrling Barracks.

Elidi> >> Eliora waves to Haven adn pulls a chair out for K'laarn, "You remember K'laarn of course, Haven, from when we impressed. "

Dragon> All sense that Rnayth rumbles in amusement. << I know lots of games. One is called: Dunk-The-Rider >>

Dragon> Tiarnath senses that Pendrath rumbles softly << You will get so much bigger. You must grow enough that your body is strong enough to fly. Very soon, Tiarnath... very soon. >>

Dragon> All sense that Tiarnath warbles brightly << That sounds a good one, though I doubt my rider will like it. >>

Elidi> >> Haven nods and smiles "Aye, yes I do."

Elidi> >> K'laarn smiles at Eliora and says "My thanks Weyrwoman." He seats himself and stretches out his legs. "I wanted to see Rnayth's grandchildren. Was curious if any showed traits of his." He grins widely.

Dragon> Werenth bespoke All with << We play that other day, you got new games? >>

Tiarnath> I bespoke Pendrath with << Then I will try to be patient and wait. It isn't easy though. >>

Dragon> Rnayth bespoke All with << Slurp-the-Rider? >>

Elidi> >> Eliora smiles, "We have quite a few young ones, and I think perhaps at least two of the bronzes favor Rnayth a bit."

Dragon> Pendrath bespoke All with << My mate enjoys dunk-the-rider, though she pretends not to >>

Elidi> >> K'laarn looks thrilled. "Thats grand." And, ungracefully, he gets around to what is probably the real object of his visit. "And your new weyrwoman? Telinda. How is she?" He does his best to not look anything more than casually curious.

Elidi> >> Haven smiles and sits, sipping some juice. "Any news from Honshu?"

Dragon> Werenth bespoke All with << Really? She seemed to be a little uset when my lifemate dunked her >>

Elidi> >> K'laarn purses his lips. "Our Weyrlings are being introduced to Wings now, the last batch of them anyway. Our New Weyrwoman is doing a rather fine job of keeping things well organized."

Dragon> Pendrath bespoke All with << She acts upset when she is not, and acts not upset when she is. She is a very odd person when she wants to be >>

Elidi> >> Eliora smiles, "I think she's really got her hands full with Tiarnath, quite an active Gold, enjoys fun and games."

Elidi> >> Haven grins and nods to that. "Many games."

Elidi> >> Eliora smiles, "I'd heard Kestia had a good head for organization, I keep think I should go and take a few notes."

Elidi> >> K'laarn nods and says "Its always been my thought that Weyrwomen should share their secrets." Then he shakes his head "Poor Telinda. First a Headwoman for so many years, putting up with the whole weyr. I am betting her Tiarnath is more trouble even than that." He grins.

Telinda sighs, "Just don't try so hard, Tia. Its not like you can't get around the weyr as it is. Flying's no biggie." A hand reaches up to scratch the gold's headknobs, "I think I might get something to eat. Yes, you can sit outside." She waves to D'clan and then moves off

You head north into the landing field, full of dragons.

Tiarnath enters from the lush lakeside meadow.

Elidi> >> Haven grins "She's doing well enough, though I think she frets over her too much"

Elidi> >> Eliora nods and sinks into a chair, "So true, she's had quite a good bit of experience with the weyr, though raising a dragon is something else all together."

Elidi> >> K'laarn nods and says "But she'll do well. Probably better than most." He smiles slowly. "I'm glad she Impressed. I always thought she would. But after time went by, and it never happened." He frowns.

Tiarnath follows her lifemate, sometimes nudging her in the back as she walks across the field, causing her to nearly trip. Telinda frowns deeply, calling out over her shoulder, "Stop it!"

Rnayth turns his head a little and observes the little gold and her rider-to-be. He croons at Telinda, familiar with her and wuffs a soft breath of air toward her.

Elidi> >> Eliora says "Sometimes it takes time...nobody really knows who will impress what and when.."

Elidi> >> Eliora smiles, "But of course you know that as well as anyone. It's good that Telinda did finally impress, I know we were all cheering for her."

Telinda chuckles as the warm air reaches her, looking up at the sight of the familiar bronze. "Rnayth?" she says, tone a little puzzled, as Tiarnath immediately finds someone else to play with. Telinda smiles, suddendly brighter, "He's here? Not that I want to see him, but..?" she stammers, watching as her lifemate stalks around the bronze to examine his tail with interest.

Elidi> >> K'laarn nods and says "I'm glad she did though.."

Elidi> >> Eliora smiles, "Have you had a chance to tell her that yet?"

Rnayth snorts at Telinda. Obviously he thinks little of her protestations. His wings flex and settle against his sides.

Elidi> >> K'laarn chuckles. "I doubt she wants to see me. She's probably still furious with me."

Khale heads for the hall with a large sack of something.

Elidi> >> Eliora tilts her head a little and ponders why Telinda would be mad at K'laarn, "Whatever for..unless it's personal?"

Tiarnath croons softly for a moment, considering. Then, with a warble of warning, she pounces on Rynath's tail.

Telinda smiles, noticing Khale and running after him, "Got some fruit in that sack?" she asks, following him into the hall

Elidi> >> K'laarn coughs and then says "Oh. Not too personal. I just don't gather she likes me much." He shrugs a little haphazardly.

You walk over to the Weyrhall.

K'laarn continues "Every time I happen to .. bump into her, she's yelling at me."

Khale walks over from the Landing Field.

Khale smiles, "Yep, Orangefruits, want one?" He pauses to open up the sack at the door.

Eliora grins a bit, "Perhaps it's just a coincidence?" she waves to the arrivals, "Telinda, K'laarn was just saying how glad he was that you impressed." there she spills it for K'laarn.

K'laarn's voice fades off as the object of his conversation comes into the Hall. He stares at Telinda for a long moment then mutters, "Speaking of yelling.." He starts to stand. He gives a short nod to Telinda.

Telinda grins and nods, reaching her hand inside the bag, "Please" she comments, taking one and tossing a salute to the riders present. Her face, as her glance flickers over to K'laarn, is mixed and quickly hidden as she looks to Eliora, "Oh, did he?"

Khale grins and waits for the young lady to get an orangefruit before he gathers up the bag to go around to fill up the fruit bowls on the tables.

Haven mmmms "Fresh orangefruit?" She returns Tel's salute and reaches to take one of the fruits from a bowl Khale just filled.

K'laarn clears his throat and says "Why yes. I did." He answers for himself.

Antigone leaps away from Bertha's arm.

Eliora smiles and nods, "Wasn't it nice of him to come all this way to visit?" she smiles at K'laarn and then waves to Khale, "Got a redfruit for me in there?"

Khale says "Only the best of fruits for Southern of course."

Antigone flitters over to her pet, landing on the table in front of Haven. "Anyone for a froze orange wedge?" Haven askes, peeling the skin off the fruit

Khale grins and pulls a shiny redfruit from his vest pocket, "I was sure you would want one, Eliora."

K'laarn says, "Though I prob ably should be heading back now. I have my duties to attend to and all that." He avoids looking at Telinda.

Telinda digs her nail into the orangefruit, deftly avoiding the spurt of juice, and slips into a seat, "Was nice" she replies to Eliora, peeling off the skin of her fruit. She glances outside and frowns once and then turns back to K'laarn, "I'm sorry if Tia is bothering Rnyath, I've told her to stop." Her tone suggests whether that happens or not is another matter.

Eliora grins at Khale and then says, "Surely you don't have to leave just yet, K'laarn?" she looks curiouls between the junior weyrwoman and the Honshu rider. Hmmm...

K'laarn finally looks back at Telinda. "Its not a bother. Rnayth's enjoying himself. He likes attention, when he gets it." His face is expressionless. "At any rate. Congratulations." How strange, this sudden stiffening of the features and hidden awkwardness on K'laarn's part.

Telinda smiles a little, something brighter hidden underneath, and nods to K'laarn as she slips a wedge of orangefruit into her mouth. "What was it they say? Like dragon, like rider?" she remarks, then nods, "Thank you for that and for thinking of dropping by to see me." Though why its taken him nearly a turn to do so, well!

K'laarn frowns faintly. He looks at Telinda for long moments and says finally, and simply. "I'm sorry Telinda." The expression on his face looks appologetic, as if he's finally loosened up enough to try and make amends.

Telinda nods, chuckling softly. She's not quite the Telinda she was. "Oh don't frown so, it doesn't suit you" she remarks, "but thank you for the apology."

K'laarn looks down at his gloves for a moment then back up toward Telinda. "I would of come sooner. I figured you might not wish to see me however." He says in a low voice as he steps closer toward Telinda to have a more private conversation with her.

Haven ahems softly and takes her fruit, knowing when she's needed elsewhere

Khale grins and takes the rest of his fruit to the kitchen.

Khale walks toward the Kitchens.

Haven walks toward the Landing Field.

K'laarn coughs and then says "Er, perhaps you'd like to talk somewhere else?"

Telinda shrugs, looking at K'laarn, "Why? Because I shouted at you last time? You know why I did,. it was because you expect and then never visit!" She glances around and sighs, "I don't have much privacy these days, this--" she gestures, "its about as good as it gets. "

K'laarn nods quietly and says "You're right. So maybe I shouldn't of expected anything. Its not like we've ever gotten far." He seems a little iritated about that fact, or perhaps he wishes it had. Magnanimously he says "You're free. I don't lay any claim on you."

Telinda nods in return, "Can't say I blame you" she remarks, seemingly on a different tack altogether. Maybe we need to wash our ears out Telinda?! She flickers a glance outside, and smiles a little, "Tia's changing things anyways."

K'laarn blinks and says, "Wait a minute." He holds up one gloved hand.

Telinda tilts her chin upwards, "I'm not going anywhere. In case you failed to notice, I'm sat, enjoying an orangefruit."

K'laarn nods and says "Do you mean to tell me you think I dont' want you?"

Telinda gestures, a wedge of orange in her hand. "I thought we knew that already!" she remarks, smiling nontheless, "Oh don't look so serious. I never expected anything. I was only ever a Headwoman!"

K'laarn looks stupefied. "You think I didn't want you?" He stammers, "But I thought you didn't want me!?" He looks even more bewildered.

Telinda blinks. Oh right. Now we find out. She sighs, looking down at her orangefruit. Least she knows what that is and it knows what its doing. "Then you didn't think, did you?!"

K'laarn scowls and then grabs your shoulders and pulls you forward. "Listen here Telinda." He looks angry. His jaw's twitching.

Telinda glances down at the hands on her shoudlers, "Stop that" she remarks, "I'm no floosie to be grabbed at and, and.." she stammers, loosing the words at K'laarn's tone.

K'laarn looks into your face and says seriously and sternly. "Don't you ever think I don't want you. I do, very much so. But every time we tried to talk, you'd yell at me. What was I supposed to think? You didn't like my kisses. You didn't like me touching you. I figured you didn't like me! If I thought differently, believe me woman, you'd of been by my side long ago." His voice turns rough and thick. He fades off and then realizes he's been shaking you a little. He lets you go gently and looks appologetic.

Telinda rolls her shoulder back a little, trying to rid them of the tension gathering there. "Well, its too late now, isn't it!?" Shaking her head, she continues, "You should've been more patient, I thought you real men were supposed to be able to deal with minor set backs! And--" she snorts, "don't call me woman, I have a name!"

<Southern Weyr> Telinda snugs R'lien in the midst of some interesting RP :)

<Southern Weyr> Haven waves to R'lien, and offers him some popcorn. Interesting RP indeed. Let me know if you want Antigone to vamoose

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika LOL!

<Southern Weyr> Telinda grins at Haven. Nope, not unless you want to. Its nothing thats not PG so.. :)

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika says, "Tel, is it in near the Landing Field?"

<Southern Weyr> Haven nods "And I figure you two are smart enough to whisper/mutter anything you don't want me to hear. Just though I would remind you that she was there listening :)"

K'laarn looks frustrated, "Is it too late?"

<Southern Weyr> Telinda noddles. Indeed :)

Jerrika emerges through the archway leading to the Weyrfolk residences.

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika aaaaghs and is in the kitchen. gaaaah!

Jerrika walks toward the Kitchens.

Telinda laughs, though there's an edge to it, "You don't think so? I mean for starters how long has this been going on, five turns?!" She shakes her head, "Then there's the question of my duty" oh yes, we had to get that word in somewhere, Telinda's favourite excuse for everything, "to the weyr and to Tiarnath."

K'laarn looks exhasperated with you. He puts his hands on your face, turns your face upwards toward him, and leans forward as if to kiss you.

Telinda shakes her head, making it nigh on impractible for that to happen, "Can't" she mumbles, trying to turn her head away, "I'm a weyrling and there's Tiarnath to think about." Oh yes, Tiarnath, never mind Telinda. Nope.

K'laarn sighs and drops his hands from your face as you twist away. He steps back and says "Its not too late." He looks at you seriously.

Telinda wrinkles her nose, she not being so sure. A moment's pause as she looks down at her hand that seem to have made a complete mess of the orangefruit once held there, then she gestures to a seat next to her, "Then sit and tell me how you can think a way out of this mess? It can't work. Even were I free to make the decision, you're at Honshu, I'm here at Southern!"

K'laarn sits down hard and says "Simple. You will be a full rider soon. We both have transportation now. We'll find away."

Telinda laughs, "Simple?" she retorts, "If we ever find the time! We never did before so whats the difference now?"

K'laarn nods and says "Fine, if that is how you want to look at it. Telinda, most of the reasonings were because each though the other didn't like them. I would of made time for you."

Telinda's eyes narrow into sapphire slits as she stares at K'laarn. Somethings never change. "Oh yes, I'm sure!" she retorts, sounding non-convinced. "It was different whilst I was headwoman, but now I'm lifemated to a gold, its a different story isn't it?! I thought you were different once, perhaps, no," she sighs, "I know I was wrong."

K'laarn looks at you quietly for a few moments then says "Because I'm in love with you, and have been for a long time, I am going to forgive you for what you just said." He stands stiffly and says "You think about things Telinda. I couldn't care less if you're Impressed to a watchwher. I'd want you anyhow. But I guess there's not a way to prove it to you now. So I suppose you're right. It is hopeless. When you change your mind about the situation, let me know. I'll do my best to wait." He starts to stalk out of the hall.

Telinda almost jumps out of her chair, hand stretching out to grab K'laarn's tunic, "Wait --" she cries out, "I don't want you to go!"

K'laarn pauses and then stops. He turns halfway around and says, "Oh?" He looks at you quietly with darkened violet eyes. "What do you want me to do then?" He says obligingly.

<Southern Weyr> Haven says, "This is better than some soaps, Tel ;)"

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika says, "I have to see this or I'll die of curiosity!"

Telinda looks down at her hand, removing it, "I don't know, I just" she pauses, "I don't want you to leave. It might be along time before I see you again, and well" her mouth curls up into a tentative smile, "I like having you near."

Jerrika emerges from the swinging Kitchen door.

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika is very discreetly settled in a corner, btw.;)

<Southern Weyr> Telinda giggles. This has been going on since Rnyath sired the clutch here

<Southern Weyr> D'clan is curious as to what is going on now ;)

<Southern Weyr> Telinda says, "Well, it was spontaneous Rp, nothing planned or anything"

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika hehs.

<Southern Weyr> Telinda is ICly just not used to displaying emotions

K'laarn looks down at you in confusion. "You like having me near, but you see no chance between us?" He just shakes his head "Telinda, you exhasperate me."

D'clan strides over from the Landing Field.

D'clan wanders in humming something

Telinda chuckles a little and nods, "I've been told its one of those things I do well" she remarks, looking up at K'laarn, "Even Tia says its true." Looking down, she shuffles her feet, not that they needed shuffling just, well, just! "There was a chance, but I don't" she breaks off, leaning up to whisper in K'laarn's ear.

You whisper "I've never felt like this and Tia's not helping the situation any" to K'laarn.

K'laarn touches the side of Telinda's face gently, stroking it affectionately. "I'll wait."

<Southern Weyr> Telinda watches for violins!

<Southern Weyr> Haven sobs quietly and looks for her box of kleenex

<Southern Weyr> F'lan icks

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika pulls out one but can't play it. Darn!

Telinda reaches up her hand to her cheek, pressing the flat of K'laarn's hand there and tilting her head slightly, "Don't make any promises" she remarks, "a thought is alright, but I don't want broken promises!"

<Southern Weyr> Echo ARGHS at WORK. Don't they know I've got MU*ing to do

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika chuckles.

<Southern Weyr> R'lien chuckles :)

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika dabs her eyes with R'lien's shirt.

<Southern Weyr> Telinda says, "Oh come on guys, its not that bad, least you have gossip :)"

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika grins.

<Southern Weyr> Haven gasps between sobs, "Bad? Its... its... beeeauuutiful!" and starts sobbing again

<Southern Weyr> Echo wonders what she missed.

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika says, "I got emotion al during the movie 'Joy Luck Club'."

<Southern Weyr> Haven says, "This is much better than M'ren and Haven having a fight"

<Southern Weyr> Telinda giggles. I wish I'd logged this would've been fun, oh well, never mind :)

<Southern Weyr> F'lan wonders what he missed :)

<Southern Weyr> Echo jumps up and down. What is it?? :p

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika says, "A ton of things. M'ren and Haven? EEEEp."

<Southern Weyr> Telinda zips her lips :)

K'laarn nods and says "Fine, I don't promise."

<Southern Weyr> Haven says, "Oh, they have misunderstandings all the time that lead up to big fights"

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika adjusts her new glasses as they pinch her nose.

<Southern Weyr> Telinda usually just ends up shouting at K'laarn and he doesn't come back for months :)

<Southern Weyr> D'clan grins, "You should see my alt and his WLM, they are either very sickenigly sweet or trying to kill eachother. Absolutely no middle ground"

<Southern Weyr> Haven says, "Oh they get miserable and tucked their tails between their legs and apologize, except that usually always coincides with an injury or accident, making them feel 10x's worse :)"

<Southern Weyr> Haven says, "They are such the happy little disfunctional couple :)"

Telinda smiles a little, glancing down once more as if looking up would be too dangerous. "I think I can live with that."

D'clan takes one glance and decides it would be a good idea to join Jerrika in the corner

K'laarn just looks amused now.

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika says, "Interesting. Soap opera fodder"

Telinda chances a look upwards, eyes narrowing at the amused look K'laarn is wearing. Hand reaches up to her hips, in one of her more characteristic postures, "Whats so sharding amusing?!" she asks.

<Southern Weyr> D'clan bamfs for home, night ppls

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika Snugs D'clan.

<Southern Weyr> Echo says, "Night D'clan"

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika twangs a rubber band across the knot.

K'laarn sighs "The fact that I have to leave, just when things got interesting." He sighs aagain and says "Duties, Telinda, they get into the way every time."

Telinda nods. She knows exactly what K'laarn means. She smiles, lifting her hand to wave a goodbye

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika snags a hanky and blow into it.

K'laarn suddenly leans forward and kisses your mouth. Its not a passionate one, but brief instead. A gentle caress and a non-verbal promise.

K'laarn kisses Telinda's mouth. ;)

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika says, "WhooooooHOO!!!!!"

Telinda's hand drops, and in surprise she fails to move away in time to stop K'laarn's kiss. She stumbles a little, catching herself with an outstretched hand to a table top, before she makes a total fool of herself.

<Southern Weyr> Haven askes Jerri to pass the tissues please

K'laarn leans away and says "I'll be by again, now that I know you want me here." He smiles slowly at Telinda, a special smile ment only for her. Then he turns and walks out toward the field.

<Southern Weyr> Telinda laughs!

K'laarn walks toward the Landing Field.

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika hands Haven a boxful.

<Southern Weyr> Jerrika says, "Now that was GOOD!"

Telinda slumps into a chair, least when she slumps she hopes there's a chair behind her and blushes, looking quickly around the hall and spotting people. Hopefully noone saw! Then, like a rising sun, she spots Bertha. Oh Faranth, the whole weyr will know!

Jerrika chuckles quietly as she holds a hide up to her nose. She saw it, however, but will not tell. Bertha'll know. She thought, wryly.

Bertha winks back at Jerrika.

Jerrika rolls her eyes, and mutters, "I thought so."

<Southern Weyr> Telinda grins. Good ole Bertha

Later on in the same day...

In the northern sky, Orchellth lumbers toward the broad Landing Field below.

Orchellth lumbers over from the sky above.

J'ran climbs down and slides to a landing, dusting himself off.

J'ran waves.

Telinda smiles and waves

Telinda also adds a salute after a few minutes of waiting as the thought hits her

Piet smiles a greeting.

J'ran grins. "Piet, hello!" He salutes Telinda, then walks over to hug Piet.

K'laarn walks in after J'ran, his saunter easy. Wow. He's showed up so soon after his most recent visit. Amazing.

Piet hugs J'ran lightly. "Hey, J'ran."

Telinda blinks and stares at K'laarn, shaking her head. Nah!

Kaleum enters from the lush lakeside meadow.

K'laarn is beside his dragon, having already dismounted, and looks surprised to see Telinda there in the field. He smiles just the same though and heads toward her confidently.

Kaleum waves to everyone as she heads to the weyrhall for some Klah.

Kaleum walks toward the Weyrhall.

Piet continues to J'ran, "Anything in particular brings you here?"

J'ran smiles and waves to K'laarn, then looks at Piet. "I haven't seen you in a while."

Piet grins a bit lopsidedly, brushing his hair out of his eyes. "True."

K'laarn grins sideways at J'ran. "Hey there J'ran."

Telinda looks a little bewildered at K'laarn's approach, "Did you leave?" she asks suspiciously

K'laarn nods and says "Of course I did." He grabs Telinda's hand in his as soon as he reaches her side and squeezes it. "I wanted to come see you again."

Telinda frowns, not sure whether to believe her luck or not, a glance flickering over to Piet and J'ran. Ok, they seem real enough. Turning back, she looks down at her hand, a little surprised to see it squeezing back, followed by a small smile, "You did?" she asks.

Piet is pretty real. As real as he ever gets.

J'ran is imaginary. Really!

K'laarn is nodding at Telinda. "What do you think?" He looks sincere. His violet eyes darken with intensity. "I haven't been able to keep my mind on my duties all day. Its quite depressing. So I figured I'd come talk to you some more, to get on a more stable footing so to speak, so you don't distract me so sharding much."

Piet says "I was actually on my way to bed. If that isn't a problem."

Telinda shakes her head, like she's trying to clear it. "Depressing? Distracted?" she repeats blithely to K'laarn, then looks around, "We need to be seated for this?"

J'ran smirks. "Not a problem. We should leave those two alone anyway."

Piet says "Sounds like."

K'laarn grins, you can tell he's teasing Telinda, "Well, how about, almost? It sounds good at any rate. How about I just wanted to see you again?" He tugs on her arm gently. "Comon, lead me to some nice place we can sit and talk."

Piet chuckles. "*Definitely* leave those two alone."

K'laarn throws Piet and J'ran long suffering looks. "I'm not going to molest her. She's a weyrling yet." He adds as an afterthought, "Its not allowed."

Piet chuckles. "Doesn't matter to me." This could be taken in a couple of ways.

Telinda arches an eyebrow. Its not like she's ever needed to be alone and yes, she's a weyrling so. She giggles as K'laarn echo's her thought and then nods towards the beach, "Its quiet down there, yet public enough that noone will complain."

J'ran grins.

Kaleum strides over from the Weyrhall.

Kaleum waves at the group of people, noticing a rider that she has not met before.

K'laarn grins and then tugs on Telinda's hand while heading toward the beach. "Lets go then Teli."

Piet says "Afternoon, Kaleum."

Kaleum turns to Piet. "Hello Piet, how are you?"

Telinda grins at Kaleum, being pulled after K'laarn, but surprising giving little resistance

Piet says "All right, thanks. Eventually heading to bed."

You walk toward the lakeside meadow.

K'laarn walks over from the landing field.

Tiarnath> J'ran smiles at Kaleum. "Hi there, I'm J'ran, green Orchellth's rider, from Honshu."

You walk toward White Sands Beach.

K'laarn walks over from the lakeside meadow.

K'laarn smiles broadly and then says "Good, we have a little privacy here at the very least."

Tiarnath> Kaleum nods, "hmm, me too. Hello J'ran, I'm Kaleum, well met." Kaleum extends her hand.

Telinda nods, "A little. Not too much, which is a good thing. I have no wish to be accused of something I didn't do."

Tiarnath> J'ran takes Kaleum's hnda. "Well met."

K'laarn nods and says "They'd just have to ask your dragon though." He reaches up and pushes a few locks of hair away from your face. "are you glad to see me?"

Telinda lowers her eyes, but nods, "I'm surprised, when you said you'd be back, well, I thought it'd be a lot longer than this." A smile curls up her lips, "I can't say I'm complaining though."

Tiarnath> Kaleum smiles at J'ran. "I see you are from Honshu."

K'laarn replies, "Now that I know you don't hate me. Why should I stay away when I find time?"

Telinda shrugs, "I'm certain you could find some reason or another."

Telinda smiles, "Besides, I've never hated you, you've just been difficult to deal with at times is all" she replies earnestly

Tiarnath> Piet smiles. "I'm off to bed, I think. J'ran? You know where to find me."

K'laarn chuckles lightly and says "Telinda, do you deny that most every time I came by to attempt to get closer to you, you fended me off?"

Telinda takes a step back, "I didn't think you were interested in me. Not me" she prods her index finger to her chest, "as a person, just me as some potential bed partner."

Tiarnath> Tiarnath wuffles the master weaver softly before snorting and going back to sleep.

Tiarnath> Piet winces slightly as even a small dragon can steam up your clothes pretty badly, but knowing it was well intentioned, gives the dragon a pat on her nose.

K'laarn blinks and says quietly, "Telinda, I have my pick of the girls." He looks at you seriously. "I don't need you just to warm my bed."

Telinda sighs, "I still don't understand why" her glance flickers to meet your eyes, "I'm just me. Nothing differnt. Nothing's changed."

Tiarnath> Tiarnath cracks open an eyelid and croons very softly

K'laarn sighs and says "I felt you slipping away. I felt it was finally time to put an end to the undecisiveness. Before you found someone else. I know what happens when a young woman Impresses, especially to a gold. "

Tiarnath> Piet bids goodnight.

Tiarnath> Kaleum smiles and waves. "Goodnight Piet."

Tiarnath> Piet says "Goodnight."

Tiarnath> Piet strides over to the Weyrhall.

Telinda gestures with her hands, throwing them up in exasperation, "Everyone keeps on about it, but I haven't a clue! Slipping away?" she asks, repeating your words back to you.

K'laarn nods his head "I was afraid you'd find someone else before I got to show you what a wonderful Weyrmate I'd make for you."

Wait a minute. Weyrmate? She blinks, saying it this time "Weyrmate?! But we can't! I can't! We're in different weyrs!" she starts, evidently having more in reserve, "I'm a weyrling.." they keep coming and its likely she can find more, many more

Telinda did that of course

K'laarn sighs and says "Yes, I know. I'm content to wait."

K'laarn finally says "But it sounds like from your words that it isn't a viable option for you, nor is it something you're remotely interested in." He sounds discouraged. "I'll withdraw that thought then."

Telinda blinks some more. "Wait? But.." Hand reaches out, "Did I say that I wasn't interested?" she asks, frowning, "I put up several reasons why it'd be impossible, not that I wasn't interested."

K'laarn sighs in exhasperation. "Its not impossible Tel." He takes your hand and squeezes it. "Not if you'll have me."

Telinda glances down at her hand. "How can you say that?" she asks, though sadness tinges her voice, "I mean we each are lifemated to dragons in different weyrs. I can't move to Honshu, you can't move here. Its not possible."

K'laarn turns toward you, touches your face and says "Yes, it is." He sounds very stubborn.

Telinda shakes her head slowly, still looking down, "We never got the time before, and I've got Tia. What will everyone think? We'd not be able to spend much time together either."

K'laarn replies, "Then every moment we're together better count, eh?" Then he says softly, "Telinda, if you wished it, I'd ask if I could transfer here. I don't know if they'd allow it.."

Telinda snaps up her eyes, locking them to your face, "You'd do that for _me_?" she asks in astonishment.

K'laarn smiles crookedly. "Telinda, now that I know you care for me, I'm cursing myself for the wasted years. All the time I could of had you as my weyrmate. I could of given you children. I could of ..." His voice fades off.

Telinda tentatively reaches up a hand to lightly caress your cheek, "No more could of's. Thats past" she replies quietly.

K'laarn nods and then leans into your touch. "Telinda, I've wanted you for a long time. I've not felt like this for anyone, since Dorian.. Since Phennah."

Telinda blushes, casting her eyes down once more though her hand doesn't move, "You don't have to say that" she almost whispers, "Just to know you care is more than I could've wished for."

K'laarn smiles contentedly.

Telinda shakes her head, "Tell me one thing" she asks, "Why in Faranth's name have we been so stupid?!"

K'laarn looks out over the lake. "We're both stubborn and muleheaded. And.. I've really been reluctant to actually commit myself."

Telinda chuckles a little at the stubborn and muleheaded part. She knows that well enough. "Reluctant? To me or in general?" she asks

K'laarn replies "In general." He pauses. "Dorian hurt me pretty badly."

Telinda nods, "Care to tell me about it?"

K'laarn purses his lips and says "I was just a weyrperson. I loved her alot." He says slowly, "She'd just had one child. When she seduced me to her bed. She was my first." He comments absently.

Telinda squeezes your hand as she listens, "What happened, if you loved her?"

K'laarn purses his lips "I don't think she loved me. I was obsessed. She got pregnant. She didn't know who the father was. Me or Zach. She lost the baby anyhow. She got pregnant again later, with his baby. She decided she liked him more I suppose. That happened after I Impressed though." He pauses again then says "She came up to me not too long back. Wanted to revive our relationship. "He looks pained. "I was almost tempted."

Telinda nods, taking a half step closer, "Almost? What stopped you?" she asks curiously

K'laarn chuckles lightly, "You. What you'd think about it. I was going to talk to you about it but never got the courage to."

Telinda frowns, not quite understanding, she's still rather new to this game. "You wanted to ask my opinion about starting a relationship with another woman?!"

K'laarn shakes his head. "No, not at all. I wanted to tell you how upset I was."

Telinda nods a little and then frowns, mumbling very quietly, "I've never been with a man" she says, finding sudden interest in the way the sand fills her sandals.

K'laarn sucks in a deep breath. "Really?"

K'laarn looks suddenly worried for no reason at all

Telinda shakes her head, not speaking and can't see your expression.

Telinda sighs, starting to walk away, "Now I've done something wrong. Oh don't worry, go back to Honshu and forget this ever happened!"

K'laarn shakes his head "Telinda, I.. if we get closer.. Let me be your first. Before she rises for her first mating."

Telinda turns her head over her shoulder and laughs, though its semi hysterical, not one of her favourite topics of discussion this, "She's not going to rise" she comments, "I'm not even going to let her" she breaks off, not ready yet to let her mind workings show.

K'laarn says softly, "You have to let her, so Rnayth can catch her." He smiles slowly.

Telinda shakes her head vehemently, not at the thought of Rnayth but at the thought of Tiarnath rising, "She's not going to rise, ever!" she says

K'laarn nods his head and says "Telinda, you've lived in the weyr a very long time. Think about it. You know you're not being very realistic. It will happen will you, nill you. And Rnayth will be there." More determinedly. "and he will catch her. "

Telinda nopes. Telinda reckons she's going to be the first weyrwoman never to have to go through that. Yep. Thats the plan. Shaking her head, she snorts back, "I have my own plans for my lifemate" she remarks. "I don't even want to think about what happens!" She frowns deeply and then changes the subject, "You hear they have me taking diplomacy lessons?"

K'laarn nods his head "ITs expected. " Then he unerringly heads back to the other subject "Telinda, dont' deny the inevitable, it just makes things painful later."

You say "I'm not denying it, it's just not going to happen" she remarks, "You'll see."

K'laarn smiles gently. "Yes, I will" He says, rather than argue further. "Telinda, its late now. I best be returning to Honshu. I'll be back. I'll have Rnayth bespeak your mate." He steps toward you. He brushes your forehead with a hand then leans over and kisses your forhead just where his fingers touched. "Goodnight."

Telinda smiles softly, leaning into the light caress and kiss, "Goodnight, K'laarn" she says, "I'll be waiting for you"
