ICA = ICC. In Character Actions = In Character Consequences.
The founders of Ierne Weyr advise all potential residents and visitors to the Weyr that we will be adhering to this basic principle of RP. While there is a certain tolerance for new players in the learning process, experienced players should be conversant with this principle.
The basic concept is that players who RP IC misdeeds should be prepared to RP out the IC consequences. For example, if a dragonrider mouthed off to a Lord Holder, he or she should expect dawn sweeps or a commensurate punishment from their wingleader or the Weyrleader. Another example would be if a resident were caught stealing. He or she should expect a demotion or perhaps banishment from the Weyr, depending upon the severity of the incident(s) in question. While sometimes a punishment can be avoided through some IC fast talking, or the person misbehaving might not get caught, it's unreasonable to expect
It must be stressed that candidates can be asked to leave the Weyr or the OOC process of candidacy if they disobey the rules. Given Ierne's unique search process, it is highly recommended that a candidate (either ICly searched or OOCly part of the process as a potential stands impression) considering RPing an expulsion offense speak to the candidate coordinator(s) to double-check whether or not their character would still be eligible for possible stands impression. No dragon would impress to a murderer, for example, so someone kicked out for murder would not be eligible to continue through the OOC aspects of search and would not be chosen for impression. Other situations are on a case-by-case basis, so asking first is always a good idea.
