There is no real social stigma attached to suicide. A 'mercy draught', a painless and quick drug that causes death, can be administered as deemed necessary by a Healer, or the patient. However, if possible you should counsel the patient. If the patient cannot be consulted due to incompetence/insanity or unconsciousness, it is up to you and your Master. A Lord Holder may not become involved, as it is a private matter. Suicide is expected, but not actively encouraged, when a rider loses his dragon.
Bodies are buried in rock cairns or under stone tablets
so as not to leave the body exposed to threadfall. The preferred method
of burial is cremation. Sea folk usually have solemn sea burials for their
dead. |
